Team and Role Overview The Debit Portfolio Senior Specialist is part of the Customer Solutions Centre Australasia team and is responsible for driving growth across Mastercard's debit portfolio by identifying new business opportunities, deepening relationships with issuing customers, and delivering tailored solutions that create value for both customers and Mastercard. This role sits within the Core Consumer products team and focuses on expanding the adoption and performance of Mastercard's debit products. The individual will work directly with customers and internal partners to drive transaction volume, profitable revenue growth, and differentiated customer value propositions. Success requires strong sales instincts, the ability to translate customer needs into actionable solutions, and a proactive, analytical mindset. Role Responsibilities Drive Sales & Revenue Growth - Drive innovation to unlock new debit growth opportunities, including leading one major innovation initiative that will shape Mastercard's future debit value proposition. - Identify and pursue new business opportunities across existing and prospective issuing customers, fintechs, and strategic partners. - Build strong client relationships and understand their needs to deliver compelling, tailored debit solutions. - Partner with Account Teams to develop persuasive sales narratives, customer presentations, and proposals that support winning new debit mandates or expanding existing portfolios. Shape Sales Strategy Through Insights - Conduct market benchmarking, competitive analysis, and issuer/merchant insights to uncover opportunities and inform sales approaches. - Monitor industry and regulatory trends impacting debit and translate them into sales insights or solution recommendations for customers. Deliver Customer-Centric Solutions - Support customers with analysis that helps them improve revenue performance, reduce costs, and optimize their debit portfolio. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams-including Product Delivery, Implementation, Loyalty, Legal, Marketing, and Compliance-to ensure solutions proposed to customers are feasible and value-accretive. Execute Sales Initiatives - Support the execution of Mastercard's debit strategy by engaging directly with customers to articulate product capabilities, benefits, and differentiation. - Participate in sales pipeline management by identifying opportunities, progressing deals, and providing timely insights to internal stakeholders. - Maintain strong cooperation with internal partners to ensure seamless execution of sales commitments and customer deliverables. Portfolio Support - Assist in managing the lifecycle of debit-related benefits and partnerships by capturing customer feedback, identifying enhancement opportunities, and relaying commercial insights to internal teams. - Contribute to innovation efforts by identifying unmet customer needs and potential enhancements to Mastercard's debit value proposition.
