Technical Product Manager -IN VCF Observability Platform Work Location: Remote Function: Product Management Reports To: Director / VP, Product Management Role Summary Rackspace is hiring a Technical Product Manager (TPM) for Observability to own the end-to-end observability strategy for our Rackspace Cloud’s which include, baremetal, VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)–based Private Cloud (PVC) platforms and others. This role is responsible for defining, delivering, and operationalizing platform-level visibility, monitoring, alerting, and AIOps capabilities across compute, network (NSX), storage, and platform services. The TPM will ensure that observability is built-in, standardized, automatable, and consumable by Rackspace delivery teams and customers alike. This role is central to enabling supportability at scale, proactive operations, and consistent customer experience as Rackspace modernizes its private cloud platforms and continues to innovate and create unified intelligence with predictive operations strategy. Core Responsibilities Product Ownership & Strategy - Own the Observability capability pillar across PVC platforms (Edge, Enterprise, Cloud) - Define the product vision for observability across the private cloud platforms—encompassing monitoring, AIOps, alerting and ticketing workflows, and automation. - Design the end‑to‑end customer experience for consuming observability capabilities, including intuitive dashboards, advanced insights, and predictive analytics. - Translate operational pain points into clear product requirements and outcomes. - Align observability strategy to VCF 9, NSX, vSAN, and lifecycle automation Technical Scope - Platform monitoring for infrastructure and control plane components - ScienceLogic (SL1) platform enhancements and integrations - Optional integrations with Datadog, SIEMs, and customer tooling - Telemetry pipelines, alert hygiene, SLOs, and operational signals - AIOps capabilities: anomaly detection, predictive maintenance, remediation triggers Execution & Delivery - Maintain prioritized backlogs (Jira/Craft) tied to platform outcomes - Partner with engineering and SRE teams to deliver scalable observability features - Ensure observability is embedded into deployment, upgrade, and migration workflows - Drive creation of dashboards, runbooks, and operational documentation Cross-Functional Alignment - Work closely with Support, Operations, and Delivery to reduce escalation friction - Partner with Sales and GTM to position observability as a monetizable platform capability - Represent observability readiness in platform reviews and leadership forums What Success Looks Like - Unified visibility across compute, network, storage, and platform services - Reduced MTTR and escalation rates - Predictable operational posture for VCF-based environments - Clear customer-facing dashboards and APIs - Observability capabilities consistently enabled across all RXT hosted deployments - Provide customers with a consistent, intuitive observability experience in the RXT portal that enables proactive decision-making and confidence in platform operations. Required Experience & Skills - 6–10 years in technical product management, SRE, platform engineering, or operations-focused roles - Strong understanding of VMware ecosystems (VCF, vSphere, NSX, vSAN) preferred - Hands-on experience with observability platforms (SL1,AriaOps, Datadog, Prometheus, etc.) - Familiarity with AIOps concepts and operational telemetry - Ability to translate operational complexity into simple, scalable products - Proven systems integration experience, designing and delivering end-to-end observability integrations across heterogenous systems.
