Leidos Human Resource Services has an opening for an HR Specialist, Offboarding Services. The HR Specialist, Offboarding Services position is responsible for delivering a first-rate experience to employees who may be terminating from Leidos. This will include complementary support to organizational HR and line management as well as to HR functional area staff (including Workplace Relations). PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: - Review and process termination requests submitted via HCM system or email, providing guidance and correcting/adjusting where necessary. - Review organization impacts that may result from terminations and initiate additional needed actions, as necessary. - Prepare separation documents for departing employees, and notify various key departments, and outplacement vendor, as necessary, of intent to separate. - Assist line managers, HR Business Managers, and Workplace Relations partners with administrative aspects of voluntary and involuntary employee separations, layoff/termination letters, and Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) processing. - Track involuntary employee separations throughout the notice period, ensuring that separation is processed timely and that state-mandated final pay deadlines are met. - Serve as key POC for the employee throughout the termination process and after termination, to include responding to any benefit inquiries/issues, updating contact information, managing exit survey opt-out requests, and other general issues/inquiries. - Respond to numerous inquiries from employees, line HR and/or line management via email and phone. - Maintain flexibility and a positive attitude toward innovation and change. - Collaborate with other HR service delivery areas, HR leadership, Group HR Business Managers, and HR functional area staff on new and existing programs and continuation process improvement initiatives. - Position operates out of a shared services environment and, as such, requires a consistent on-site schedule and occasional after-hours support as needed or required - Other duties as assigned. REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: - High school diploma and 6+ years’ experience in human resources, benefits, or other relevant field. - Ability to apply critical thinking skills to complex issues. - Ability to use deductive reasoning to assess multi-faceted questions and problems. - Extensive experience supporting internal customers in a specialized HR capacity. - Commitment to outstanding customer service, both internal and external. - Extremely strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to make connections with customers in writing. - Experience resolving complex issues utilizing external resources and escalating internally when appropriate. - Experience working with and independently interpreting internal policies and procedures to ensure continuity of HR business services. - Ability to multi task and stay organized in a fast paced environment.
