You have deep expertise in U.S. bookkeeping and use your knowledge to help small business owners understand their financial statements and stay confident in the health of their business. You strive for excellence in overseeing ongoing bookkeeping tasks including month-end reconciliation, review, and accurate completion of books, while providing proactive communication and support to ensure long-term customer success. You are a clear and comfortable communicator who can explain accounting concepts to non-accountants and help Pros make sense of their financial data. You bring an analytical mindset to improve efficiency and accuracy across your accounts, and you partner closely with internal bookkeepers to facilitate timely and effective service delivery. You use your experience to serve as a trusted guide for small business bookkeeping in the U.S. home services space. Our Accounting Solutions team is focused on partnering with our service Pros to deliver accurate bookkeeping and support their businesses on our accounting platform. As a member of the team, you contribute to an entrepreneurial, enthusiastic, and client-focused environment dedicated to making accounting pain-free and championing our Pros to success. As one offering within our broader Business Solutions suite, Accounting Solutions team members will also gain exposure to a wide variety of cross-functional team work in collaboration with other divisions such as Tax Solutions, Payroll, and others. What you do each day: - Ensure that your portfolio of Pros receives world-class service through consistent communication, proactive outreach, and clear explanations of their financial statements - Engage Pros regularly to gather necessary documentation, share updates, surface insights, and keep them informed throughout the month - Partner closely with bookkeepers supporting your accounts, providing proactive support to keep work moving efficiently and ensure books are completed accurately and on schedule - Meet all month-end service delivery deadlines for dedicated accounts, including all actions necessary to review, verify, and deliver completed and reconciled books - Draw upon your extensive bookkeeping and accounting expertise to answer client questions, including financial statement errors, chart of accounts cleanup, sales tax matters, unresolved A/P and A/R issues, merchant services, and questions regarding third-party interactions - Foster exceptional customer experiences and employ strong organizational and communication skills to guarantee timely client follow-ups Qualifications: - 3+ years of U.S. bookkeeping/accounting experience with in-depth understanding of SMB accounting methods and processes, including: - Consolidation and preparation of financial statements - Month-end book close and consolidation process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and flux analysis, A/P and A/R - Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or similar certification or level of experience (such as QBO ProAdvisor) - 1+ year of experience leading or mentoring others - Experience providing bookkeeping or accounting guidance directly to clients is highly valued; especially explaining financial data, resolving issues, or supporting small businesses - Experience using AI tools to increase quality and efficiency of work What will help you succeed in this role: - Excellent people skills: personable, patient, and good-humored - Strong written and verbal communication skills - Finding joy in accuracy, clarity, and efficiency - Strong expertise in troubleshooting bookkeeping and tax-related questions - Track record of managing multiple projects with strong attention to detail - Self-starter mentality and independent thinker; intelligent and effective problem-solver - Interest or experience in home service business trades is a plus Founded in 2013, Housecall Pro helps home service professionals (Pros) streamline every aspect of their business.
