Who we need Reporting to the Manager of Practicum Coordination, we are hiring a Practicum Coordinator to join us for a 12 month contract with the possibility of extension. As our new Practicum Coordinator, you will assist students enrolled in practicum placements as part of the field training component of our Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP) program, providing placement support. You will liaise between students and the Field Training department, collaborate with faculty and students, and ensure a meaningful and effective practicum and classroom experience. This is an existing vacancy covering a maternity leave, working remotely within Canada in the Eastern time zone. What's in it for you Influence and impact. How you will make an impact - Support practicum students. You will monitor student progress throughout their placement, providing guidance and hosting live and virtual office hours. You will assist students with special requests, such as practicum extensions, site changes, or site terminations, ensuring they receive the necessary support. - Liaise with practicum sites. You will collaborate with site supervisors and faculty, offering support and ensuring alignment between academic expectations and field training. - Manage student’s Practicum submissions. You will track student hours and identify potential red flags to escalate to the Senior Practicum Coordinator. You will review and ensure all practicum-related documentation is complete and accurate. - Manage documentation. You will maintain key student records, including evaluation forms and feedback reports. You will ensure course bulletins and practicum materials are up to date. Additionally, you will document significant student communications in the shared drive and communication logs. - Respond to student issues. You will read and respond to student emails and support tickets within 24 hours, forwarding issues to the appropriate departments when necessary (e.g., IT for tech issues, Faculty Instructors for assignment questions). - Champion our culture. What you bring - The education and experience. You have a Master's degree in Psychology, Social Sciences, or a related field. You have professional experience in a related field. You are detail-oriented, highly organized, and can effectively manage large volumes of confidential paperwork. - The interpersonal skills. You can build trusting and influential relationships with students, faculty, and practicum site supervisors across Canada. You have strong conflict resolution and crisis management skills and can navigate sensitive situations with professionalism and cultural sensitivity. You are comfortable engaging in high-level communications, whether supporting graduate students or collaborating with university staff and faculty. - The technical skills. You are proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe, and data management. You can quickly learn other software programs used in online learning. - The problem-solving mindset. Compensation philosophy At Yorkville University and Toronto Film School, we believe compensation should be fair, straightforward, and supportive of your growth. Our salary ranges reflect progression from learning in the role to excelling, with each offer based on skills, experience, and role complexity. This position offers a minimum annual salary of $60,000, a midpoint of $62,500 and a maximum of $65,000. Established hires typically start near the midpoint, while the upper range is reserved for those with deep expertise and sustained contributions. Offers below the midpoint recognize strong potential with room to grow. We strive for equitable, consistent pay, though rates may vary within the same role based on performance, specialized knowledge, and impact. Base salary is one part of a broader package that includes paid time away, retirement savings matching, and extended health coverage with 80% of premiums paid.
