Who we need Reporting to the Chair, Master of Public Policy and Administration (MPPA), we are seeking Course Developers to support the revision and enhancement of existing courses within the broader fields of public policy and administration. As our new Course Developer, you will review and revise course outlines and supporting materials to ensure they remain academically rigorous, professionally grounded, and reflective of the realities, structures, and evolving policies of the Canadian public sector. You will combine academic depth with applied expertise to strengthen and modernize course content, ensuring learning experiences remain research-informed, current, and relevant to practice. This is a remote (within Canada), part-time contract role expected to span approximately eight weeks. What’s in it for you Impact and innovation. How you will make an impact - Collaborate. You will work alongside academic leadership, curriculum design, and the Learning Design team to review and revise existing course outlines and materials so they reflect the complexities and professional realities of Canadian public policy, governance, economics, and administration. You will ensure that all updates align with Yorkville University’s Student Learning Outcomes, accreditation standards, and regulatory expectations. - Revise and strengthen course content. You will update and enhance course outlines and related materials, integrating current scholarship, applied research, and emerging developments in Canadian governance, policy, and public service. Your work will maintain academic rigour while ensuring practical relevance for learners preparing to navigate real-world policy challenges. - Integrate contemporary perspectives. You will incorporate current policy discourse, government practices, and professional standards into course materials, embedding authentic Canadian case studies, frameworks, and codes of ethics to strengthen professional alignment. - Evaluate and refine. You will review course content through stakeholder feedback, data insights, and scholarly review to ensure continued relevance and alignment with evolving government structures, policy frameworks, and academic standards. - Engage with stakeholders. You will maintain communication with faculty, project stakeholders, and institutional partners throughout the revision process, ensuring clarity, quality, and timely completion of deliverables. - Advance learning excellence. You will stay informed about current pedagogical research, emerging instructional technologies, and best practices in online course delivery to support continuous improvement in the learning experience. What you bring - The academic foundation. You hold a Master’s degree or higher, ideally a PhD, in a field directly connected to the Canadian public sector, such as Public Administration, Public Policy and Governance, Political Science, or Economics. - The Canadian expertise. You bring professional and research experience within Canada’s public sector, ideally including work with federal, provincial, or municipal governments in areas such as economic policy, public management, or intergovernmental relations. You have the contextual understanding necessary to reflect Canadian regulatory environments, policy processes, and administrative practices with precision and authenticity. - The industry expertise. You have contributed research, analysis, or scholarship in Canadian public administration or related policy fields, including peer-reviewed publications within the last five years. You understand how to translate complex policy and administrative systems into clear, engaging, and academically sound course materials. - The teaching and research experience. You have demonstrated success in course design or instruction within post-secondary environments and can integrate applied or academic research into curriculum development. You are skilled in designing for diverse learners across online, blended, and in-person formats. - The collaboration and communication skills. You are an articulate communicator with exceptional written and editorial ability. You can work effectively across academic and administrative functions, build trust with institutional stakeholders, and maintain high professional standards. You bring strong organizational, administrative, and project management skills to manage deliverables, milestones, and feedback loops. - The technical proficiency. You are highly competent with educational technologies, online learning management systems, and digital authoring tools, supported by proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Additional details: This is a remote, part-time, contract-based role based in Canada. The work will involve major revisions to an existing course outline within the program, rather than full course development. Who we need Reporting to the Manager of Practicum Coordination, we are hiring a Practicum Coordinator to join us for a 12 month contract with the possibility of extension. As our new Practicum Coordinator, you will assist students enrolled in practicum placements as part of the field training component of our Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP) program, providing placement support. You will liaise between students and the Field Training department, collaborate with faculty and students, and ensure a meaningful and effective practicum and classroom experience. How you will make an impact - Support practicum students. You will monitor student progress throughout their placement, providing guidance and hosting live and virtual office hours. You will assist students with special requests, such as practicum extensions, site changes, or site terminations, ensuring they receive the necessary support. - Liaise with practicum sites. You will collaborate with site supervisors and faculty, offering support and ensuring alignment between academic expectations and field training. - Manage student’s Practicum submissions. You will track student hours and identify potential red flags to escalate to the Senior Practicum Coordinator. You will review and ensure all practicum-related documentation is complete and accurate. - Manage documentation. You will maintain key student records, including evaluation forms and feedback reports. You will ensure course bulletins and practicum materials are up to date. Additionally, you will document significant student communications in the shared drive and communication logs. - Respond to student issues. You will read and respond to student emails and support tickets within 24 hours, forwarding issues to the appropriate departments when necessary (e.g., IT for tech issues, Faculty Instructors for assignment questions). - Champion our culture. Compensation philosophy At Yorkville University and Toronto Film School, we believe compensation should be fair, straightforward, and supportive of your growth. Our salary ranges reflect progression from learning in the role to excelling, with each offer based on skills, experience, and role complexity. This position offers a minimum annual salary of $60,000, a midpoint of $62,500 and a maximum of $65,000. Established hires typically start near the midpoint, while the upper range is reserved for those with deep expertise and sustained contributions. Offers below the midpoint recognize strong potential with room to grow. We strive for equitable, consistent pay, though rates may vary within the same role based on performance, specialized knowledge, and impact. Base salary is one part of a broader package that includes paid time away, retirement savings matching, and extended health coverage with 80% of premiums paid.
