Attributes We Value We hire successful builders with founder-like energy who want real impact, accelerated learning, and true ownership. You bring strong role-related expertise and sharp thinking, and you're motivated by our mission and operating principles. You move fast with good judgment, dig deep with curiosity, and make decisions from first principles, balancing speed and rigor. You're humble and collaborative; turn zero-to-one ideas into real products, and you "get stuff done" end-to-end. You use AI to work smarter and solve problems faster. Here, you'll tackle complex, high-visibility problems with exceptional teammates and grow your career as we build the future of global banking. If that sounds like you, let's build what's next. The role: We're looking for a Senior Manager, Financial Partnerships, to be based in London or Amsterdam, to own our key strategic relationships related to our banking infrastructure in the UK and Europe. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, 'out of the box' thinker, who has worked in the payments and/or financial services industry. Experience building and maintaining relationships with financial institutions in the UK and Europe whilst working at a payment institution/EMI is essential for this role. You must have a strong network of banking partners, financial institutions, and payment networks to help Airwallex scale. You will: - Lead, develop, and implement a banking partnerships strategy for the UK and Europe that supports our vision for Airwallex's global collections and payouts network. - Manage our most strategic partnership opportunities, both existing and new, and act as the main point of contact between Airwallex and our partners. - Conduct market research to understand the competitive landscape to ensure that Airwallex maintains its position as a payment leader. - Identify and evaluate opportunities to integrate with local banking partners, acquirers, and payment methods as Airwallex expands to new geographies. - Coordinate due diligence processes with prospective partners and project manage onboarding with new partners. - Develop yourself as an industry thought leader. Who you are: - You're an exceptional communicator - you're able to connect with people at all levels, both internally and externally, and communicate project expectations effectively. - You thrive under pressure - and work well with constant change and the ambiguity of a startup environment. - You have strong negotiation skills - to navigate complex commercial discussions to ensure the best outcome for Airwallex. - You're a team player - work cohesively with colleagues from across the organisation and be able to inspire a shared vision. You have: - 7+ years of experience working with financial institutions, global and regional banks, and payment networks. - Exceptional attention to detail and ability to build and maintain relationships. - A good understanding of compliance and onboarding with global and regional banks. - Experience working with cross-functional teams including Product, Legal, Compliance, Finance, and Commercial teams. - International experience - working in multiple markets or managing cross-border relationships. - A proven track record of working with technology-led businesses in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Applicant Safety Policy: Fraud and Third-Party Recruiters To protect you from recruitment scams, please be aware that Airwallex will not ask for bank details, sensitive ID numbers (i.e. passport), or any form of payment during the application or interview process. All official communication will come from an @airwallex.com email address. Please apply only through careers.airwallex.com or our official LinkedIn page. The benefits package includes health/dental/vision insurance, paid vacation and sick days, and a 401k. In addition to our tangible benefits, Empowerly provides our people the opportunity to learn and grow within a supportive team environment. A great deal of your fulfillment at any company is determined by the extent to which the values of the people and the organization align with your own. It’s hard to assess culture from the outside and most companies are not good at describing their own nature. (How do fish describe water?) They also have incentives to say things that sound attractive rather than things that are true. We’ve tried to assemble characteristics. This is our best attempt to share an honest description of our culture today. We hope you find it useful in deciding whether Empowerly is the kind of place in which you’d like to spend your time.
