Role Description Alexa+ is Amazon’s next-generation, AI-powered virtual assistant. Building on the original Alexa, it uses generative AI to deliver a more conversational, personalised, and effective experience. The Alexa Sensitive Content Intelligence (ASCI) team is developing responsible AI (RAI) solutions for Alexa+, empowering it to provide useful information responsibly. The Mission: - Build AI safety systems that protect millions of Alexa customers every day. - Ensure LLMs provide safe, trustworthy responses. - Build AI systems that understand nuanced human values across cultures. - Maintain customer trust at scale. We are looking for a passionate, talented, and inventive Data Scientist-II to help build industry-leading technology with Large Language Models (LLMs) and multimodal systems, requiring good learning and generative models knowledge. You will be working with a team of exceptional Data Scientists in a hybrid, fast-paced organization where scientists, engineers, and product managers collaborate to build customer-facing experiences. You will: - Collaborate with other data scientists to understand the role data plays in developing data sets and exemplars that meet customer needs. - Analyze and automate processes for collecting and annotating LLM inputs and outputs to assess data quality and measurement. - Apply state-of-the-art Generative AI techniques to analyze data representation of human language. - Run experiments to gauge downstream interactions. - Work collaboratively with other data scientists and applied scientists to design and implement principled strategies for data optimization. Qualifications - 3+ years of data scientist experience. - 3+ years of experience with data querying languages (e.g. SQL), scripting languages (e.g. Python), or statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R, SAS, Matlab, etc.). - 3+ years of experience with machine learning/statistical modeling data analysis tools and techniques, and parameters that affect their performance. - Experience applying theoretical models in an applied environment. - Experience with big data: processing, filtering, and presenting large quantities (100K to Millions of rows) of data. - Experience in Python, Perl, or another scripting language. - Experience diving into data to discover hidden patterns and conducting error/deviation analysis. The Member Applied Research Data Science and Engineering team drives foundational research to advance the measurement and understanding of member value. We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist with strong causal inference and experimentation experience to advance our understanding of member engagement with a growing variety of available content and new interaction types. In this role, you will drive foundational research, new metric development, and experimentation strategies that directly guide decision-making across the Netflix product. You’ll work in a highly collaborative and cross-domain environment with other data scientists, data and analytics engineers, and business teams to accelerate our measurement capabilities and influence our strategy. The range for this role is $372,000.00 - $600,000.00. This compensation range will vary based on location. Netflix provides comprehensive benefits including Health Plans, Mental Health support, a 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer match, Stock Option Program, Disability Programs, Health Savings and Flexible Spending Accounts, Family-forming benefits, and Life and Serious Injury Benefits. We also offer paid leave of absence programs. Full-time hourly employees accrue 35 days annually for paid time off to be used for vacation, holidays, and sick paid time off.
