Team/ Role Paragraph: Joining CBPL’s UK Finance and being part of the engine powering smart growth through financial clarity. As a Senior Accountant you’ll own daily finance operations as well as having input and review to sharpen forecasts, model scenarios, and turn raw data into crisp, board-ready insights. As a member of our UK Finance team, you will play a pivotal role in scaling Coinbase’s presence in the UK and wider EMEA region through new licence applications, new product launches and governance. This is a high-impact position designed for a versatile finance professional who can navigate the complexities of a regulated fintech environment while driving long-term efficiency through automation. Reporting into the UK Finance organization, you will serve as a key partner to the UK Head of Finance. You will be operationally focused, collaborating with cross-functional teams in the US, EMEA, and India to operationalize new business areas and review upcoming product launches. What you’ll be doing (ie. job duties): - Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies and procedures over platform accounting activities - Collaborate with cross-functional partners to operationalize new areas of the business to facilitate streamlined accounting transactions as assigned - Analyze data against business drivers to identify trends / issues - Provide support for internal and external audits related to specific areas of responsibility - Maintain up-to-date process documentation and procedures as assigned - Contribute to automation and efficiency initiatives to streamline reconciliations - Assist on preparation and/or review of month‑end and quarter‑end close, own UK IFRS books of accounts and reconciliations, maintain major accounting policies, and adjust financial statements as required. - Oversee the monthly US GAAP to local IFRS accounting adjustments. - Supporting regulatory reporting requirements. - Monitor and oversee outsourced finance services, ensuring performance meets agreed SLAs/KPIs. - Supporting the Global finance function as part of the month end close cycle. - Support ad hoc financial information requests from the UK Head of Finance and other stakeholders as required. What we look for in you (ie. job requirements): - 5+ years working in public accounting or in the fintech/financial services industries preferred. - Experience working in a regulated environment. - BA/BS in Accounting or related field, or ACCA/ACA preferred - Basic knowledge/understanding of payment systems and cash reconciliation processes at a large financial institution - Basic knowledge of blockchain technology and the crypto economy - Possess excellent analytical skills business partnering, problem solving and prioritization skills - Able to work well in a dynamic environment and be able to recommend and implement process improvements - Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal - Strong work ethic and team player Nice to haves: - Experience working in Netsuite, FloQast and G-Suite. - Basic knowledge of SQL and experience working with Snowflake, Looker or similar analytics tools. - Basic knowledge of Client Asset Safeguarding.
