Discover a career where you ignite innovation for millions, transform passion into growth opportunities, celebrate each other’s unique experiences and embrace the flexibility to do your best work. Creating a career you love? It’s Possible. At Pinterest, AI isn't just a feature, it's a powerful partner that augments our creativity and amplifies our impact, and we’re looking for candidates who are excited to be a part of that. To get a complete picture of your experience and abilities, we’ll explore your foundational skills and how you collaborate with AI. Through our interview process, what matters most is that you can always explain your approach, showing us not just what you know, but how you think. You can read more about our AI interview philosophy and how we use AI in our recruiting process here. The Team Pinterest is transforming software engineering for the AI-native era. We’re evolving how engineers build, review, validate, deploy, and operate software by combining best-in-class AI tooling with strong technical standards and scalable operating mechanisms. Our AI Native Software Engineering effort is focused first on making software engineering across Pinterest’s mono-repos, AI native while accelerating existing productivity investments. What you’ll do: - Use GenAI as the default operating model for EP PgM execution—producing AI-assisted first drafts of core program artifacts, modernizing high-toil workflows into AI-first mechanisms (e.g., intake triage, status synthesis, action/decision extraction, risk & dependency tracking), and synthesizing signals to proactively surface risks, decision/trade-offs, and escalation paths. - Prototype solutions to augment decisions through data (e.g. dashboards, data analysis) or simplify processes (e.g. process and workflow helpers, or internal tools) using AI coding assistants (“vibe coding”). - Follow Pinterest AI guidance for risk, governance, and safety-by-design: appropriately handle sensitive data, validate AI-generated outputs, document assumptions/limits, and ensure AI-assisted workflows meet applicable policy/compliance expectations before broad adoption. - Lead company-wide programs that improve developer productivity through AI-assisted coding, validation, code review, and deployment safety. - Drive the roadmap and operating model for AI-native engineering practices across Pinterest. - Independently lead complex technical programs across Ads and Core Infrastructure, partnering with engineering teams to drive planning, execution, and delivery. - Coordinate work across multiple teams and stakeholders, ensuring clarity on ownership, milestones, risks, and technical dependencies. - Help drive programs that improve the reliability, scalability, efficiency, and developer productivity of Ads and Core Infrastructure systems. - Build dashboards, reporting, and operating mechanisms that provide visibility into progress, risks, outcomes, and execution health. - Partner closely with engineering, TPMs, and business stakeholders to surface tradeoffs, unblock teams, and keep critical programs moving. - Contribute to roadmap planning, process improvements, and scalable execution practices across a varied technical portfolio. Flex across a range of platform and infrastructure priorities as business needs evolve, while maintaining strong ownership of your primary programs. What we’re looking for: - AI-first execution mindset: demonstrated ability to use GenAI to accelerate planning, program operations, and stakeholder communications—starting with AI drafts and applying strong judgment to validate, refine, and drive decisions. - Workflow design, AI fluency, data & insights orientation: experience turning repeatable program work into durable, low-toil mechanisms and improving decision-making by using GenAI (e.g., strong prompting, vibe coding lightweight scripts/tools, dashboards, data analysis and leveraging agents where appropriate) - Safety-by-design AI fluency: experience operating within AI governance expectations (risk assessment, data handling, model/output validation, auditability/traceability) and proactively identifying where AI use is not appropriate or requires additional controls. - 3+ years of experience managing complex, cross-functional technical programs in infrastructure, platform, backend, or ads-related environments. - Strong technical program management fundamentals, including roadmap planning, dependency management, risk tracking, issue resolution, and execution at scale. - Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across engineering and business stakeholders in high-visibility settings. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including experience using metrics, dashboards, and data to drive decision-making. - Technical fluency in infrastructure and platform concepts such as distributed systems, service dependencies, reliability, APIs, automation, cloud infrastructure, or developer tooling. The uploaded kits repeatedly emphasize technical breadth and judgment rather than coding depth. - Comfort operating in ambiguous environments, setting structure, and driving alignment across teams with competing priorities. This is called out across both kits’ evaluation criteria and interview plans. This is a rare opportunity to help define how software gets built at Pinterest in the AI era. You’ll shape the systems, standards, and adoption strategy that enable engineers to move faster with confidence, and your work will directly influence long-term engineering effectiveness across the company.
