Technical Consultant, Platform Engineering – Azure

• Design, deploy, and operate Azure landing zones and shared services for large enterprise environments. • Build and manage core compute and platform services, including: Azure Virtual Machines, VM Scale Sets, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and container registries (ACR), and Platform services such as App Services, Functions, and Azure Automation. • Implement resilient, scalable solutions using availability zones, ASGs, load balancers, and backup/recovery patterns. • Apply governance, RBAC, Azure Policy, Blueprints/management groups across subscriptions and tenants. • Experience assessing the customer environment using tools like Azure Migrate and performing Migration Planning and Assessments. • Experience with Creating wave plans, building server inventory for large/Medium scale migrations. • Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform and/or Bicep, and configuration management (e.g., Ansible). • Build CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and application workloads using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar Git-based toolchains. • Standardize and templatize platform components (modules, pipelines, patterns) to support internal developer platforms and self-service provisioning. • Integrate security and policy-as-code into pipelines (linting, approvals, guardrails) to ensure compliant deployments. • Collaborate with SRE/operations teams to automate day-2 operations (patching, scaling, scheduled maintenance, routine changes). • Experience to Operate the kubernetes cluster on Azure using tools like CNI, Ingress Controllers, Service Mesh, Network Policies. • Experience to build automation using Ansible playbooks, Python, PowerShell. • Experience to build and deploy application and infrastructure using CICD tools like Azure DevOps/GitLabCI/Harness/Jenkins. • Design and implement Azure networking architectures, including: Hub-spoke topologies, VNets, subnets, and VNet peering, VPN Gateways, ExpressRoute, and hybrid connectivity. • Troubleshoot complex networking issues across hybrid and multi-cloud footprints. • Configure and tune Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, and related tooling for logging, metrics, and alerting. • Contribute to SRE-style practices such as runbooks, incident response patterns, and reliability-focused automation.
Job Requirements
- 5+ years focused on Azure infrastructure, platform engineering, or DevOps.
- Hands-on experience designing and implementing Azure core services: compute, storage, identity, and security.
- Azure networking: VNet design, hybrid connectivity (VPN/ExpressRoute), NSGs, firewalls, load balancers, and WAF.
- Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform and/or Bicep; Ansible or similar is a plus).
- Practical experience with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or equivalent) and Git workflows.
- Solid understanding of containers and orchestration (AKS, container registries, basic Kubernetes concepts).
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability on Azure (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights).
- Good understanding of cloud security fundamentals (identity, RBAC, policies, encryption, networking controls).
- Proven experience working in consulting, platform, DevOps, or cloud engineering teams delivering solutions for enterprise customers.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work directly with clients, gather requirements, and present solutions.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- One or more relevant Microsoft Azure certifications are strongly preferred.
