What this opportunity involves While each project involves unique tasks, contributors may:  - Design original computational physics problems that simulate real physics research workflows; - Create problems requiring Python programming to solve (using Numpy, SciPy, Sympy); - Ensure problems are computationally intensive and cannot be solved manually within reasonable timeframes (days/weeks); - Develop problems requiring non-trivial reasoning chains in mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, and quantum mechanics; - Base problems on real research challenges or practical applications from physics practice; - Verify solutions using Python with standard physics simulation libraries; - Document problem statements clearly and provide verified correct answers. What we look for This opportunity is a good fit for optical engineers with an experience in python open to part-time, non-permanent projects. Ideally, contributors will have:   - Degree in Physics (Theoretical, Experimental, or Computational) or related fields; - Python proficiency for numerical validation. MATLAB, R, C, SQL, Numpy, Pandas, SciPy, domain-specific libraries, Stata or knowledge of any programming language can be equivalent; - 2+ years of professional experience: applied, research, or teaching experience is applicable; - Experience with numerical simulation methods; - Ability to design problems that mirror real physics research workflows; - Creative thinking in problem design across diverse physics areas; - Familiarity with physics modeling and approximation techniques; - Strong written English (C1+). Role Description We are seeking a highly skilled Application Engineer to be the technical expert for Mecademic's robotic solutions in the ASEAN market . This crucial, hands-on role provides in-depth technical support and demonstrations, ensuring the successful deployment and optimization of our ultra-compact robots for engineers and system integrators across the region. Your Main Responsibilities - Technical Support & Application Development: - Work directly with engineers, developers, and integrators who are testing, coding, and implementing the robots. - Handle objections and propose solutions to overcome technical and operational challenges. - Answer technical questions and resolve issues related to product functionality and integration, and conduct product demonstrations. - Create and document PoC (proof-of-concepts) projects that help customers evaluate Mecademic robots in their applications. - Provide expert advice and guidance regarding our robot technology to help customers optimize their projects. - Conduct training sessions to empower customers to use the robots effectively. - Develop resources (e.g., FAQs, guides) to assist customers during the integration process. - Utilize CRM tools to manage customer relationships. - Global Representation: - Travel within the ASEAN Region to represent Mecademic at trade fairs, partner events, and customer sites. - On a case by case basis some travel may be required to India and/or China. - Act as a technical ambassador, engaging with engineers, integrators, and clients to promote and support Mecademic’s robotic solutions. Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer, or Mechatronics Engineering. - Proven experience in a similar role, ideally in the robotics or automation field. - Fluency in English is required. - Proficiency in Malay, Vietnamese, or Mandarin is a significant advantage for daily client communication. Requirements - Solid understanding of industrial automation concepts, including robot kinematics, controllers, sensors, and safety systems. - Proficient in CAD software for mechanical and electrical design (e.g., SolidWorks). - Experience with robot simulators and PLCs is highly desirable. - Strong programming ability, ideally in Python, with hands-on experience using APIs and version control systems (e.g., Git) is highly desirable. - Excellent communicator, capable of translating complex technical information into accessible content. - Customer-focused mindset with a collaborative spirit for cross-functional work. - Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities. - Experience organizing logistics for technical events or equipment deployments is a plus.
