Smartly
We are looking for an Accountant to join our Global Finance team in Manila. In this role, you will support the accuracy and reliability of our financial operations by owning selected accounting areas and contributing to our month-end close process. You will also help ensure smooth accounts payable and employee expense processes that support teams across Smartly. This role is well suited to someone who enjoys structured, detail-oriented work and collaborating with colleagues across different teams and regions. What You Will Do - Own accounting for selected Smartly group subsidiaries, ensuring transactions are recorded accurately and on time - Support the month-end close process, including preparing journal entries, accruals, fixed asset capitalization, and balance sheet reconciliations - Assist with preparing audit schedules and work with external auditors during the year-end audit process - Partner with the tax team to support reporting of direct and indirect taxes - Respond to internal and external finance-related queries and provide financial data when needed - Process invoices, credit notes, and employee expense claims in accordance with company policies - Review employee expense submissions to ensure compliance with internal guidelines - Support supplier account management, including vendor onboarding, statement reconciliations, and responding to vendor inquiries - Contribute to improving and automating accounts payable and expense management processes What We Are Looking For - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field - Solid experience in accounting and accounts payable work - Strong understanding of month-end close processes and balance sheet reconciliations - Experience with invoice processing and employee expense management - Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills; experience with NetSuite or another ERP system is a plus - High attention to detail and a structured approach to financial work - Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines - Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a global team - Comfortable using English in a professional work environment What We Offer YouAt Smartly, we offer a place where you can advance your career.
