Job Title: Payroll Specialist Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Payroll Specialist to manage day-to-day payroll processing for approximately 2,000 employees across 30-60 locations. This role involves supporting a large-scale project integrating Workday and ERP systems, where you will address employee inquiries related to system changes and prevailing wage calculations. Your responsibilities will include processing weekly payroll, ensuring timely approval of time cards, handling payroll corrections, and preparing for upcoming payroll cycles. You will also perform administrative tasks and manage inquiries using Excel and a ticketing system, emphasizing detail-oriented work. Responsibilities - Process payroll for approximately 2,000 employees across multiple locations. - Support the integration of Workday and ERP systems, addressing employee questions. - Process weekly payroll, including templates, commissions, and bonuses. - Ensure time cards are approved and one-time payments are issued by Monday afternoon. - Handle payroll corrections and final settlements. - Generate and send final payroll reports to locations. - Prepare for upcoming payroll cycles with report setup and checklist management in Workday. - Perform administrative tasks such as garnishments, child support orders, and VOEs. - Use Excel templates for processing and manage inquiries through a ticketing system. Essential Skills - End-to-end payroll processing experience for large volumes (500-1,000+ employees). - Multi-state payroll experience. - Some understanding of prevailing wage. - Proficiency in Excel, with a willingness to learn pivot tables and XLOOKUP. - Experience with ticketing systems for managing inquiries. - Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications - Workday experience preferred but not strictly necessary. - Ability to download/save PDFs, generate reports, and follow checklists. - Ability to work remotely. Work Environment The position is fully remote, allowing flexibility in working from any timezone, though EST or CST is ideal. The team currently includes a lead and four payroll specialists, with a new hire recently joining. Training will follow a 'buddy system' approach with one of the existing processors. This role offers significant growth opportunities, including developing Excel skills, gaining tax knowledge, and potentially moving into more administrative or strategic roles. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Atlanta, GA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr. This will cover all configuration and functional changes required in a post production environment, and responding to customer cases on a prioritised basis.
