Role Description Currently, RG is looking to hire a Scrum Master. The Scrum Master is an exempt customer-facing business professional that provides a variety of services directly related to the customer’s overarching mission. This role is critical to shaping and optimizing enterprise-level Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) strategies, ensuring alignment with Department of Defense (DoD) objectives and Navy readiness goals. - Facilitate all core Scrum ceremonies—including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives—to promote continuous improvement. - Establish and maintain the sprint cadence, ensuring the team achieves consistent velocity and delivers reliable outcomes. - Identify and remove obstacles that impede team progress, escalating issues as appropriate to ensure timely resolution. - Coordinate activities across data engineering, natural language processing (NLP), and machine learning teams to enable effective cross-functional integration. - Monitor and report on comprehensive sprint metrics such as velocity, burndown, and team capacity to support data-driven decision-making. - Protect the team from external distractions while maintaining strong alignment with overarching program objectives. - Provide guidance, coaching, and mentorship to team members and stakeholders, ensuring adherence to Agile principles and best practices. - Manage interdependencies among technical tracks and facilitate the resolution of blockers that span multiple teams. - Lead stakeholder demonstration sessions that highlight incremental program progress and foster stakeholder engagement. - Coordinate sprint-related activities in alignment with overall program and project management requirements. - Ensure that sprint outcomes support scheduled project milestones and comply with Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) deliverables. - Foster transparency by implementing visual management tools and promoting clear, consistent communication of progress. - Manage and maintain the project risk register, ensuring risks are identified, assessed, and addressed proactively. - Establish a regular reporting cadence to keep stakeholders informed of project status, risks, and accomplishments. - Oversee the identification, refinement, and management of both product and sprint backlogs to ensure alignment with team priorities and capacity. - Track daily sprint progress and collaborate on scheduling to ensure alignment with ongoing maintenance and operational activities. Qualifications - Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field - 7+ years of agile project management experience - Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent certification - Direct experience facilitating data science or analytics projects - Proven track record of improving team velocity and delivery quality - Advanced knowledge of sprint planning techniques and agile metrics - Experience identifying and removing complex impediments across technical domains - Exceptional facilitation and conflict resolution skills - Excellent written and verbal communication abilities - Demonstrated experience with agile project management tools (Jira, Azure DevOps, etc.) - Ability to operate effectively in remote/hybrid team environments - Current NACI or ability to obtain Requirements - Advanced agile certifications (CSP, PSM II, SAFe SPC, etc.) - Experience with Department of Defense (DoD) or Navy environments - Multiple years supporting data engineering, NLP, or machine learning teams - Background in software development or data engineering - Familiarity with Navy maintenance systems or depot operations - Experience scaling agile practices across distributed teams - Track record of coaching organizations through agile transformations - Experience integrating agile with earned value management requirements Physical Requirements & Disclaimer Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
