Job Description

Construction Controller

Calista Corporation

• Prepare monthly subsidiary financial statements to be consolidated into Calista Corp financial statements. • Prepare monthly internal required reports. • Review WIPs, journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and project ledger to general ledger reconciliations. • Oversee the setup and maintenance of projects including work breakdown structures, billing and revenue formulas, and contract modifications. • Develop and monitor effective internal controls and modify or establish policies and procedures as necessary. • Assist with internal and external audits and reporting requirements for external sources. • Act as liaison for subsidiary internal client requirements and processes. • Mentor new and existing accounting staff. • Assure that duties, responsibilities, and authority of direct reports are clearly defined, effective, and communicated. • Perform training on systems, processes, and accounting principles as needed. • Coordinate account and subsidiary setup and maintenance and mapping to Deltek CostPoint system. • Perform complex analysis. • Keep informed of changes in accounting principles and regulatory requirements. • Perform complex research. • Act within scope of authority and consistent with corporate objectives, guidelines, policies, and procedures. • Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
  • CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ progressive experience in accounting.
  • Minimum of four years’ recent supervisory experience.
  • Experience with accounting for construction preferred.
  • Ability to pass a drug, background, reference, and credit check.
