Principal Engineer – Application Engineering

GlobalFoundries

• Responsible to serve as a customer-facing Technical Support Engineer with focus on GF’s mainstream, RF and advanced node platforms. • Mainly support customers’ technical issues arising during the mixed signal analog circuit design flow. • Responsible to serve as a single technical interface to customer and work with peers to coordinate all technical sales interaction. • Cultivate long-term, strategic partnerships with our clients to generate growing demand for our differentiated solutions. • Provide technical solutions to solve client's complex design issues and ensure client's success. Develop customized technical presentations and proposals to assist customers in the evaluation of our solutions. • Manage and resolve technical issues on time and efficiently meet design win, tape out, and MPW goals. • Bring the voice of the client to our internal development organizations to improve and enhance the company's enablement solutions and technologies. • Collaborate and leverage GlobalFoundries product marketing/design solutions/technology development teams, and provide real time customer feedback. • Understand competitive design/technology/product landscape including emerging technology trends and competitive threats. • Partner with account and sales managers, working to ensure a smooth post-design win transition to Field Technical Support and Customer Engineering teams. • Ensure that issues/obstacles/questions to a design win are resolved either directly or by engaging internal experts, provide work around for successful TO, and ensure first time silicon success. • Continuously learn about the customer and product, developing relationships, gathering intelligence, uncovering new opportunities.

Job Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in ECE with minimum 3-4 years of hands-on experience in building and verifying analog circuit design blocks using industry standard EDA tools such as Cadence Spectre, ADE
  • Familiar with Front to Back analog mixed signal design verification flow and be able to run & debug issues arising while performing DC/AC/Transient analysis, Montecarlo, noise, stability analysis, harmonic simulations
  • Knowledge regarding device modeling & Unix/Linux/Ocean/Skill programming languages, good documentation skills would be an added advantage.
  • Fluency in English – Written & verbal

About the Role We are seeking a switchgear application engineer to oversee the procurement of switchgear for turn-key and procurement only electrical projects. This role combines technical expertise in LV electrical distribution equipment with strong project management in a dynamic environment. You will collaborate with engineering, project managers, construction managers, and customers to ensure accurate BOMs, seamless delivery, and successful project execution for end‑of‑life replacement programs.
