Role Description The IT Systems Engineer II provides advanced Tier II support by troubleshooting and repairing network devices, tools, and services for a nationwide fiber optic transport network as well as network support for two (2) geographically separated Network Operation Centers (NOC). The IT System Engineer II is operationally responsible for all IP and network management applications associated with the IP and transport platforms and maintaining 100% availability of IP and Network Management services in engineering and operations environment. Main Responsibilities - Perform Transport Network Management functions in engineering and operations environment; operates as a technical SME. - Work Tier-2 trouble escalations for SONET, OTN, and DWDM troubles. - Troubleshoot and coordinate Tier-2 Network Implementations projects; serves as technical POC for service provisioning, configurations, and Test and Turn-up processes. - Interface with Lead Engineers with network requirements and designs. - Work and coordinate Tier-2 Network deactivation and decommission of Transport SONET, OTN, DWDM transport devices. - Write and maintain technical operational documentation and SOP for Transport discipline supporting the NOC. - Develop and maintain Circuit Layout Records, Network Diagrams, and other supporting documentation. - Review and provide feedback to network as-built, Engineering Development Plans, and configuration management drawings. Qualifications - On-call after hours/on-call support as required. - Expected to work in a shift environment in support of 24x7 operations. - Up to 10% travel can be expected. - Must have technical skills and experience in the OTN/SONET/DWDM profession. - Operate and accomplish technical tasks with minimum guidance. - Requires a Top Secret/SCI clearance. - Security+ or equivalent IAT/IAM/IASAE Level 2 of DOD 8570.1 is required. Preferred Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in an Information Technology field. - At least 5 years of experience in a network management environment. - Demonstrates a high level of proficiency in the OTN/SONET/DWDM profession. - Expertise in the uses of network management protocols, tools and products such as One Control, MCP, DNA, TNMS, Remedy. - Fluent in the use of Microsoft Office tools to include Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio. - Ciena OC-A certification is preferred. - High level knowledge of DWDM, SONET, OTN, and TDM technology. Compensation This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. • Act as a trusted advisor to customers, gathering requirements, qualifying opportunities, and designing solutions. • Collaborate with Arista Account Managers to gain an in-depth understanding of enterprise and commercial clients. • Conduct whiteboard network architectural designs and develop solutions that improve network performance, efficiency, and customer TCO. • Present Arista's Data Center Networking and Cognitive Campus solutions. • Validate Data Center and/or Campus network designs, and network deployments using Arista solutions. • Provide design guidelines and work with Arista Professional Services for client recommendations and turn-key solutions. • Collaborate with the sales team to respond to RFP/RFQs and provide valuable feedback to Product Management.

• Proactively reach out to the customer to position Arista products in DC, Campus, Routing, AI, CV etc in order to expand account footprint. • Provide Technical assistance on new opportunities including Proof of Concept testing at Arista and in customer's labs • Ensure the customer is performing operational health checks, compliance reviews, and automation maturity assessments. • Assist in deploying and integrating CloudVision, APIs, and automation toolsets. • Support customers in implementing workflows for monitoring, telemetry, and provisioning. • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in customer environments using Arista’s open, programmable platforms. • Ensure the customer is deploying a Modern Operating model and they are reducing their TCO for running their infrastructure. • Deliver strategic and advanced technical workshops (automation, CI/CD, CloudVision, AVD). • Identify training needs, and provide guidance on training, certification, and skill uplift of customer teams. • Produce business-oriented documentation: success runbooks, solution blueprints. adoption roadmaps, and optimization reports. • Primary account team contact for Customer's Operations team supporting QBRs (quarterly business review), QoRs and feedback loops • Act as a technical liaison between customers, Arista TAC, and engineering, but focus on proactive solutions. • Coordinate with SEs (strategy/pre-sales) and PS (execution) teams to ensure end-to-end customer lifecycle coverage. • Evangelize Arista PS and match customer requirements to PS deliverables.
