Content Editor – Mathematics

• Content Curation: Analyze, provide technical assessments, and give feedback to authors, suggesting, requesting, and making adjustments. • Ensure conceptual, didactic, and methodological correctness in accordance with applicable legal guidelines. • Guarantee theoretical and pedagogical quality and compliance with educational directives. • Develop proposals for restructuring and improving publications based on management requests and newly applied guidelines. • Negotiation and Validation of Iconographic Resources: Review, negotiate, and validate iconographic resources and illustrations. • Perform preliminary assembly of materials and define digital content in collaboration with Art Editors. • Verify and approve stages of review and layout/typesetting according to the publication scope. • Adapt language according to the target readers' age group. • Perform checks in accordance with the editorial procedures established for each collection. • Proofreading of Laid-out Materials: Check verbal and non-verbal text within images, including credits, source, references, captions, and titles. • Ensure legibility of images, comic strips, charts, infographics, and artwork, ordering figures throughout the material. • Verify that maps comply with cartographic standards. • Ensure correct application of icons and section text, maintaining the visual quality of the material. • Check the ordering and repetition of questions. • Confirm that module/chapter titles and nomenclature align with the syllabus/Course Content. • Verify table of contents, pagination, headers, sidebars, page numbering, and style application. • Collaboration with the Editorial Team: Work together with the editorial team to create multimedia content that enriches and complements instructional materials. • Content Quality Assurance: Ensure that all written and/or revised content meets established pedagogical and editorial quality standards and aligns with the learning objectives set for the segment. • Continuous Updating: Stay current with guiding documents, new trends, best practices, and innovations in basic education to ensure that developed content is relevant and effective. • Propose and implement Artificial Intelligence tools that optimize processes.

Job Requirements

  • Academic Qualifications:** Bachelor's degree in Mathematics (Licentiate and/or Bachelor’s degree).
  • Professional experience in basic education is required.
  • Desirable Additional Training: Courses focused on the use of Artificial Intelligence.
  • Skills and Competencies:**
  • Deep knowledge of the high school curriculum and the Base Nacional Comum Curricular (BNCC).
  • Writing Excellence: Ability to produce clear, concise, and didactic texts suitable for students and teachers.
  • Capacity to conduct in-depth research and continually update knowledge on trends and best practices in basic education.
  • Knowledge of Editorial Standards, with proven experience.
  • Ability to develop original and innovative content that engages students and complements instructional materials.
  • Precision and attention to detail to ensure quality and compliance of developed materials.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
  • Familiarity with digital education tools and platforms, as well as best practices for creating digital learning objects and audiovisual educational resources. Familiarity with Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools applied to the production of instructional materials and assessment items is also expected.

The Content Management- Production & Permissions Internship will provide a general introduction to support for Learning Resource Group workflows. This internship role will be divided in three sections to highlight the different, yet integrated, workflows: Production In this internship, you will learn aspects of both print and digital production work, including project setup with vendors, the conventions of print and digital design (Cascading Style Sheet, “CSS”), the editorial and documentation styles we enforce, production workflows and tools, and scheduling. You may be asked to help with the following tasks: copyediting or proofreading small portions of content, checking covers, triaging corrections from multiple parties, reviewing ePub or print samples, reviewing printer pages, or helping to update or improve documentation. Permissions In this portion of the internship, you will learn about permission, design and illustration workflows. You will provide assistance with licensing, invoice processing, proof checks, permission research, license follow ups, asset metadata checks, line art accessibility checks, asset archiving, AI creation. (Note: Many of these workflows require extensive data entry and reporting with various platforms--- rights system, digital repositories (Digital Asset Management, “DAM”/Content Management System, “CMS”), Jira, Slack, invoice payment system, “xflow”.) Digital Content Management Systems In this internship you will learn about content management systems, various metadata, publishing workflows. You'll learn about the Agile development of system improvements. You will be trained on how to Quality Checks of metadata and see a project through the archival process. You will manage Jira tickets for the archival tasks and work with a vendor. You may be asked to help remediate metadata on assets already stored in our Digital Asset Management, “DAM” system. You may work on asset migration projects, as we support users storage and workflows within our systems. Skills / Knowledge: - You must be enrolled in a degreed program (i.e. Bachelor’s, Master’s, etc). - We will accept applicants graduating from their degree in Spring 2026. - Recent graduates within the last 6 months will be considered.
