As a Sub-Commodity Strategy Leader, you will own creating and implementing strategies responsive to the external environment and internal business goals. This role will leverage data analytics to identify commercial opportunities that will help develop & refine the Commodity Strategy, optimizing the supply base | emerging suppliers and the vision for applying new technologies. This includes reshaping or disrupting the existing market and creation of new markets through partnerships, joint ventures (JVs), business development (BD) team activity on mergers & acquisitions (M&A). For your commodity you will lead the translation of commercial strategies to drive meaningful outcomes through linkages to the larger business strategy, deal guidelines, and implementation of the strategy at a unique deal level. You will ensure our ability to deliver the future of flight by innovating our commercial strategies, defining the supplier market, and leading change management to deliver a safe and quality product to our customers and flying public. This role requires the ability to work across organizational boundaries to deliver productivity in our contracts by aligning internal GE teams around emerging commercial strategies. Job Description Roles and Responsibilities - Perform foundational data analysis to help guide and facilitate the development of a “Living Growth Playbook” Strategy - Interprets internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes, or services - Utilizes understanding of industry trends to inform decision making process to minimize total landed costs - Create long-term strategy for suppliers and JVs to help drive accretive operating margins - Owning commodity business continuity planning process to include risk identification, abatement plans, and actioning countermeasures - Creates and leads cross-functional stakeholder engagement to develop market analysis and associated strategies - Ensure developed strategies align with supplier relationship management as defined by supplier segmentation - Creates long-term strategy for given commodity responsibility, focused on ensuring business outcomes are met, inclusive of BD activity (mergers and acquisitions) and or vertical integration - Leads and or partners with engineering, product lines, and GE supply chain shops on developing make/buy strategies - Provide deal support for the commodity, driving consistency amongst cross-functional stakeholders, ensuring developed commercial strategies are implemented at an individual deal level - Ensures commodity financial CTQs (Critical to Quality) are understood and balanced to reach the desired business outcome - Provides commodity expertise in modeling of new deals, suppliers, and technologies - Be knowledgeable of next generation technology and how we’d like to incorporate into in-service fleets and future New Product Introductions (NPI) - Participates in selection of suppliers for NPIs - Works with cross-functional stakeholders to transition military classified hardware and suppliers from development into production - Lead budgeting, strategy, and other operating rhythms as required - Travel up to 10% Required Qualifications - Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years sourcing, procurement, purchasing, planning, or related supply chain experience) - A minimum of 5 years sourcing, procurement, purchasing, planning, or related supply chain experience Desired Characteristics - Humble: respectful, receptive, agile, eager to learn - Transparent: shares critical information, speaks with candor, contributes constructively - Focused: quick learner, strategically prioritizes work, committed - Leadership ability: strong communicator, decision-maker, collaborative - Problem solver: analytical-minded, challenges existing processes, critical thinker GE Aerospace offers comprehensive benefits and programs to support your health and, along with programs like HealthAhead, your physical, emotional, financial and social wellbeing.
