Department OverviewTETRA Devices Mechanical Engineer Job Description - Responsible for design and development of highly sophisticated communications products for professional and mission critical markets. Specifically, the role is an Mechanical HW engineer to develop Mechanical Sub-Systems to meet stringent MIL-STD / ETSI Specifications. This includes bi-material processing development in areas of battery door design, back housing design, etc. - Ability to work with a team of highly qualified engineers to generate the overall design concept for the mechanical system to meet the safety thermal requirements for product specific which may include detailed design of the mechanical components using CAD tool i.e plastic parts, sheet metal stampings, castings, rubber and elastomers. - Familiar with integrating process between Electrical Hardware and Software team, in particular Electro-Mechanical components that require hardware and software controls during the period of product development. - Provide sound engineering analysis for design optimization utilizing finite/boundary element analysis, computational fluid dynamics and mathematical modeling tools etc - Establish correlation between simulation and experimental data to ensure high level of confidence in determining optimum design approach through DFSS Framework Basic Requirements - Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree, Professional Degree, Master's Degree or Doctorate (PhD) in Engineering (Mechanical) or equivalent. - At least 3-7 year(s) of working experience in new product design/development environment - Ability to work independently - Good oral and written communication skills. - Must be team-focused and highly self-motivated with a desire to explore new approaches and technology - Attain good debug skills with simulation test-benches and hardware emulation as well as provide functional verification, and manufacturing support. - Ability to utilize latest CAD tools such as Pro/Engineer and simulation tools such as ABAQUS, ANSYS, CFDesign, Icepak and ProMechanica in product design and development. - Experience with Scrum/Agile/SAFe development methodologies will be added advantages - Experience with Motorola DFSS and 6-sigma methodologies will be added advantages Travel RequirementsNone Relocation ProvidedNone Position TypeExperienced Referral Payment PlanNoEEO Statement Motorola Solutions is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Job Description Summary The Technical Field Advisor II (TFA) provides on-site technical direction to customer-owned utility and industrial power plants for their Turbine Generator Systems. Responsible for reviewing plant engineering documents and P&ID’s, troubleshooting of plant systems and equipment, planning, organizing, integrating and direction of resources such as labor, tools and materials as required to complete the work scope according to contractual requirements. The primary responsibility of the TFA II is to safely accomplish the maintenance and repair of the various equipment used in power generation applications. You may be assigned other duties to help proactively drive our Steam Power vision and align with our organization’s core values. Job Description Essential Responsibilities - Fulfill contract responsibilities for designated and qualified skill set (Turbine Mechanical, Generator) - Direct and oversee repair or inspection procedures utilizing the latest electronic communication, references and documentation technologies. - Recognize, predict and document potential failures and future outage recommendations - Working knowledge of prints/print reading, such as manufacturing drawings, P&IDs and schematic drawings - Participate as a Service Team member dedicated to Safety metrics. - Pre-outage planning; possibly recommending and administering policies and procedures - Lead execution and oversight of projects under the TFA’s core competency - Execute project management and technical leader duties - Support warranty administration - Troubleshoot and problem solve with the support of engineering to resolve customer issues - Perform other duties as assigned - Support business needs when not on field assignment - Willingness and ability to travel as required by field assignments - Ability and willingness to work holidays, weekends and overtime as required by field assignments Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) or related technical discipline from an accredited college or university, or, a High School Diploma / GED, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in hands-on Steam Turbine experience Desired Characteristics: - Possesses the knowledge and skill to actively support an outage and the awareness of where to seek answers to questions as they arise.
