• NQA-1 Lead Auditor participating in supplier qualification audits/surveys, implementation audits, and surveillances; • internal quality assurance audits, surveillances, and assessments; may lead or participate in causal analyses. • Develops, evaluates, maintains, and improves NuScale quality assurance program processes including writing instructions, procedures, and other requirement and guidance documents for the quality assurance program (10 CFR 50, Appendix B, NQA-1, ASME BPVC Section III, ISO 9001) • Reviews NuScale procedures for compliance with applicable requirements and regulations as identified through company quality manuals. • Reviews procurement documents to verify that all necessary and appropriate quality requirements are properly identified and flowed to suppliers/vendors. • Serves as a resource by providing guidance, support in the field of nuclear quality assurance and quality management systems to NuScale personnel. • Performs other duties as assigned.
• Provides procurement and contract throughout the lifecycle of a contract for engineering, design, fabrication, testing, manufacturing, and/or construction contracts in accordance with established policies and procedures. • Performs tasks as assigned to include, but not limited to, planning, bidder prequalification, development of bidder lists, development of bid solicitation packages, bid analysis, negotiations, administration, change management, and closeout. • Drafts, Evaluates, Negotiates, and Executes contracts. • Serves as the single point of contact on contractual matters. • Provides guidance on contract matters to project managers or other operational staff. • Coordinates terms and conditions review with legal representation and Finance as necessary to ensure legal and other risks are minimized.
• Responsible for design engineering of electrical systems • Oversees and coordinates work with designated subcontractors • Coordinates the design of electrical systems for microgrids and Data Centers • Establishes and reviews project requirements, develops project schedules, and coordinates their implementation • Creates and reviews electrical system design work products such as, one-line diagrams, equipment requirement specifications, functional specifications, system design descriptions, engineering studies, engineering reports, Inspection, Test, Analysis & Acceptance Criteria (ITAAC), and associated calculations • Performs interdisciplinary review of work products of interfacing disciplines and owner review/acceptance of subcontractor work products • Performs other duties as assigned
• Perform mechanical engineering assignments on the nuclear steam supply system (NSSS) including system and detailed component design • Review and evaluate various plant systems to ensure design, performance, inspection and testing requirements are defined and met • Prepares, checks, and reviews engineering reports, specifications, drawings, calculations, and other design documents • Collaborate with a multi-discipline team on very complex tasks in multiple and diverse areas and proposes innovative design solutions requiring a significant amount of independent judgment • Interprets scope and project requirements • Plans, organizes, and performs complex assignments in support of developing licensing scope • Provides mentoring and technical direction to less experienced engineers • Serves as a technical lead for the design of NSSS components and systems
• Applies expert level engineering principles, techniques and practices in the preparation and/or review of I&C system design work products such as one-line diagrams, logic diagrams, system and equipment requirement specifications, system design documents, engineering studies, engineering calculations, engineering reports, hazard analyses, and Inspections, Tests, Analyses and Acceptance Criteria (ITAAC) • Plans and coordinates detailed aspects of engineering work • Supports preparation of work scope and schedule for assignments • Compile functional and design requirements into component and system design with consideration for system interfaces, manufacturability, serviceability and in-service inspection • Develops departmental R&D needs and contributes to methodology development • Interprets scope and project requirements and develops design alternatives • Plans, organizes, and performs complex assignments in a team environment • Applies experience in the design, testing and installation of process control and automation systems • Provides mentoring and technical direction to less experienced engineers • Serves as a technical lead for the design of systems, structures, and components • Responsible for results and engineering oversight • Regularly interacts with directors and/or major clients • Creates formal networks and may serve as an internal and/or external spokesperson for the organization regarding specialized projects or programs • Provides oversight and direction to key suppliers of I&C systems and components • Also, coordinates design interfaces with other disciplines and partners associated with the I&C systems • Acts as a primary interface to regulatory agencies concerning I&C design principles of assigned I&C systems including supporting audits, requests for additional information (RAI), and meetings • Performs other duties as assigned.
• Responsible for integrating industry engineering and operational principles into the development of the NuScale design to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable plant operation. • Develops training material needed to ensure staff can operate the NuScale power plant in a safe and efficient manner. • Works under consultative direction toward long-range goals and objectives. • Collaborates with team members to ensure solutions are vetted and deliverables are of high quality. • Prepares and presents technical information concerning NuScale projects to the NRC, potential customers, and other stakeholders.
• Develops strategies and procedures to fulfill ASME BPVC III quality oversight and functional responsibilities. • Leads and supports the development of common platform processes that may be used to execute NuScale ASME BPVC III and other quality assurance responsibilities. • Provides comprehensive guidance and interpretation of ASME BPVC III requirements; assists Engineering and Supply Chain activities associated with the NuScale ASME BPVC III program. • Effectively influences decision-making within the Engineering and Supply Chain organizations to ensure the successful execution of the overall NuScale ASME BPVC III program.
• Oversee the execution of Operational Excellence strategies, including Lean and other frameworks, to advance process optimization and operational efficiency within multiple departments. • Facilitate the application of Operational Excellence tools (e.g., value stream mapping, A3 problem solving, FMEA), identifying areas for improvement and inefficiencies, and provide instruction, mentorship, and coaching in their use. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Enterprise Process Administration, to implement continuous improvement projects, streamline processes, eliminate redundancies, and maintain alignment with organizational objectives. • Lead kaizen events and guide teams in adopting Operational Excellence principles, serving as a catalyst for a company-wide culture of adaptation and ongoing process refinement. • Act as a subject matter expert for Operational Excellence, ensuring best practices are regularly benchmarked and integrated into NuScale’s operational framework. • Work closely with leadership to assess change impacts, recognize resistance, and devise actionable mitigation plans. • Lead organization in identification and reduction of cost of poor quality (COPQ), leveraging continuous improvement tools to identify and eliminate redundancies and waste. • Participate with finance and project leadership to determine value associated with improvements and elimination of COPQ. • Support leaders in establishing performance metrics and key indicators, utilizing data analysis to identify inefficiencies and generate actionable recommendations for improved business outcomes. • Continually enhance and champion the usability of data visualization platforms such as PowerBI and KanBo to aid improvement initiatives. • Guide the generation and prioritization of suggestions and initiatives, uphold tracking standards, and ensure accountability mechanisms are in place. • Employ KanBo and similar tools to track progress, monitor accountability, and measure the impact of improvement activities on business outcomes. • Perform additional duties as assigned.

• Responsible for technical supplier oversight regarding manufacturing and manufacturing development projects for nuclear instrumentation & control (I&C) systems and electrical components. • Provide consultation to NuScale design organizations regarding manufacturing, specify and collect product manufacturing requirements including all standards and specifications. • Act as a primary point of contact between NuScale design organizations and manufacturing suppliers for technical information and communications. • Apply industry expertise, codes and standards, and regulatory guidance in the general area of I&C manufacturing and supply chain development. • Interact daily with NuScale design organizations to interpret their needs and requirements to manufacturing entities. • Perform subcontract technical lead duties by preparing requirements documents and schedules, coordinating and monitoring the technical aspects of assigned manufacturing and manufacturing development projects. • Review manufacturing documentation of supplier to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, standards, and QA/QC requirements.
