• Reporting to the Manager of Radiological Engineering, this position will specialize in the areas of source terms, normal and accident dose analysis, atmospheric dispersion modeling, particle transport, reactor analysis, and shielding analysis. • Perform engineering calculations and analysis using industry-standard methods and simulation tools (e.g., NRCDose, SCALE, RADTRAD, MCNP, and ADVANTG) with little to no supervision. • Develop resolutions to complex problems that require the frequent use of creativity and innovation. • Plan, organize, and perform innovative and complex engineering assignments on a team dedicated to the development of an engineering project; interpret scope and requirements of projects; develop alternatives. • Exercise judgment within broadly defined policies and practices using professional principles and company objectives to resolve complex issues. • Interact with internal peers and management on matters requiring coordination within the department and sector. • Represent the department as a technical resource both inside and outside the department. • Mentor and train junior engineers. • Perform other duties as assigned.
• Lead the Nuclear Design team within the Nuclear Fuels organization. • Provide technical direction and management for engineering staff. • Maintain and enforce design basis discipline across group work products. • Manage ongoing maintenance and configuration control of the core design basis. • Develop technical statements of work and oversee integration of fuel components. • Participate in developing and updating company technical standards and practices. • Perform administrative functions such as reviewing and writing reports.
• This position reports to the Senior Manager, Nuclear Fuels and works collaboratively with the Nuclear Fuels leadership team and other organizations within NuScale. • Identify and characterize the full scope of fuels services to be offered — including reload core design, safety analysis, fuel procurement support, and fuel program management — with explicit distinction between services currently available and those under active development. • Interface with business development, contracts, and executive leadership to ensure the fuels program strategy is integrated into broader company commercialization plans. • Propose and evaluate business models for nuclear fuel products and services that align with company strategy and product architecture, including fuel and supply chain considerations that are unique to NuScale. • Develop standard reload core design and safety analysis schedules to support internal resource planning and customer commitment management, accounting for NRC review timelines, fuel fabrication lead times, reload outage windows, and contingencies. • Serve as a technical point of contact for customer discussions related to fuel supply scope, schedule, and engineering services during early program development.
• Reporting to the Manager, Radiological Engineering • Specialize in radiological and nuclear analyses with a focus on pressurized light-water reactors licensing writing and defense. • Perform engineering calculations and analysis using industry-standard methods and simulation tools. • Develop resolutions to complex problems that require creativity and innovation. • Plan, organize, and perform innovative and complex engineering assignments on a team. • Interact with management and senior customer personnel. • Mentor and train junior engineers. • Perform other duties as assigned.
• Performs and documents evaluations of components to the rules and requirements of Section III of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code including but not limited to analysis of components for pressure, mechanical/thermal loadings including Primary Stress, Primary plus Secondary stress intensity range, and Fatigue. • Utilizes the results from these evaluations to optimize component(s) design. • Interprets scope and project requirements. • Acquires, maintains and develops training qualifications. • Interacts with co-workers and other disciplines to promote effective coordination of design activities and resolution of technical problems. • Performs other duties as assigned.
• The person in this position performs design and stress analyses of pressure vessels, reactor vessel internals, and/or primary equipment supports in accordance with ASME BPVC Section III and applicable regulatory requirements. • Performs and documents evaluations of components to the rules and requirements of Section III of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code including but not limited to analysis of components for pressure, mechanical/thermal loadings including Primary Stress, Primary plus Secondary stress intensity range, and Fatigue. • Utilizes the results from these evaluations to optimize component(s) design. • Direct experience with ANSYS finite element software and CAD packages. • Interprets scope and project requirements. • Interacts with co-workers and other disciplines to promote effective coordination of design activities and resolution of technical problems. • Performs other duties as assigned.
• Reporting to the Director, Project Management, and this role will manage internal and/or external projects related to NuScale's Small Modular Reactor Technology. • The Project Manager leads a diverse team with various departments to advance the NuScale Small Modular Reactor design, fabrication and deployment. • Work will be performed collaboratively with other departments to ensure delivery of project to meet customer requirements and deliver customer value while achieving cost, schedule, quality and other specified targets and objectives. • Manage the overall planning and execution of project activities for assigned projects in accordance with NuScale policies and procedures. • Document and maintain the approved baseline, earned value planning and management, and project execution strategy in a Project Management Plan. • Communicate the project baseline and requirements to the project team. • Interface with and support various discipline managers and teams. • Supporting performing organizations with advanced project knowledge and company priority information. • Proactively identify and achieve resolution of project problems and anticipated challenges, including escalation of issues within the NuScale organization when necessary via effective risk and issue management. • Provides weekly and monthly status reports focused on project performance (earned value metrics, variance analysis, etc.), schedule and cost risk mitigations, and issue resolution to project stakeholders. • Coordinate with performing organization management personnel to authorize work and assign work package managers and qualified resources for project execution. • Develop, maintain and control project-specific plans and procedures needed for the efficient execution of the project. • Maintain the group’s standard of high quality and timely completion of tasks. • Perform other duties as assigned.
• Prepares and review engineering specifications, reports, and other documentation that communicates the design and technical aspects of components, systems, and structures associated with the NSSS. • Utilizes the results from BPVC Section III evaluations to optimize component design. • Collaborates with peers in different organizations and engage in the engineering change control process to ensure design decisions are well-communicated and well-understood. • Reviews design work of other groups (within and outside of the NuScale organization) to gain and maintain an understanding of how components, systems, and structures will work together. • Speaks to the design of NSSS Components in discussions with manufacturing partners to ensure design intent is maintained while fabrication of components is considered. • Performs other duties as assigned.
• Applies technical knowledge, insight, reasoning, and decision making to perform civil structural analyses and design of Nuclear Safety-Related and Non-Safety-Related structures • Uses structural engineering tools and implements appropriate standards to design structures including post-processing analytical results • Interacts with other disciplines and structural engineering consultants • Develops and reviews requirements documents, methodology documents, design reports, and studies • Possess strong written and oral communication skills • Lead the oversight of suppliers and review technical information
