You’ll partner closely with leaders across product, operations, and go-to-market teams to translate business needs into technical solutions and roadmaps, while leading your pod’s agile processes, mentoring developers, and staying close to the code. Your impact: - Lead a pod of developers aligned to a specific persona (e.g., employee, employer) or growth segment (e.g., ACV, LTV) - Conduct bi-weekly 1:1s, review weekly updates, resolve team issues (escalating when needed), and manage time-off planning to maintain team coverage - Run all agile ceremonies (stand-up, planning, retro, backlog refinement) and drive strong team collaboration - Partner with the PM and cross-functional stakeholders to translate product needs into scalable, secure technical solutions - Architect new features with other leads, mentor developers, and advocate for addressing technical debt with clear, data-backed rationale - Coordinate QA, ensure high-quality delivery, and establish meaningful, data-driven KPIs (via Metabase) to track impact against company priorities You bring: - 4+ years building and shipping production applications with Ruby on Rails - Approximately 1 year of people management experience as a Team Lead or Manager, including leading regular 1:1s, mentoring engineers, and supporting their growth and performance - Proven experience leading developers in a scrum/agile environment - Strong communicator who bridges business and technical teams and navigates conflict with clarity and empathy - Deep grounding in fundamentals: SOLID principles, domain-driven design, performant code/queries, and robust unit + integration testing - Ability to move fast when experimenting and build clean, scalable solutions when MVP becomes core - Full-stack ownership mindset from backend to frontend, testing, demos, and delivery - Comfortable with modern dev tooling (Git, GitHub, Jira, your editor of choice) plus the ability to search for good gifs when merging pull requests Research shows that while men apply to jobs when they meet an average of 60% of listed criteria, women and other marginalized folks tend to only apply when they check every box.
