Journeyman Marine Propulsion Engineer
AMERICAN SYSTEMS
• Assist in design, development, and evaluation of the operation of marine vessels, ship machinery, and related equipment, such as propulsion systems & power generation systems. • Support the US Coast Guard reviewing third party design modifications and improvements to mechanical systems and components. • Perform design reviews, evaluating constructability, helping resolve technical issues, and managing information generated through the design and construction phases. • Conduct analyses of propulsion systems and types, lead development of technical data packages and reviews. • Conduct trade studies regarding ship configuration. • Conduct marine engineering analysis. • Create graphical representations of structures and systems. • Inspect equipment or systems. • Assist in research of advanced engineering designs or applications. • Prepare technical reports for internal use.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
- Ability to obtain a secret clearance
- At least 3+ years of experience in marine specific fields (i.e. propulsion systems, power-generation systems, fluids and hydraulics)

Role Description We are seeking a hands-on Lead Engineer to own our cloud infrastructure, application architecture, and product development execution. This is a senior, high-impact role for someone who thrives in early-stage environments and wants to shape both technical systems and product direction. You will be responsible for building scalable, secure infrastructure while leading development of our products. You will work cross-functionally with leadership, product, and design to translate vision into shipped features used by school districts, students, and families nationwide.
