The Opportunity The primary responsibility of the Instructional Designer I is the successful production of high-quality online courses. There is daily interaction with internal peers, course developers, media specialists, contractors, other IDD staff, the Senior Director of Instructional Design and Development, and the Directors of Instructional Design and Development. The position may be responsible for the overall coordination of multiple online course development activities, serving as a program manager for online course production, updates, and maintenance. The position requires superior critical thinking, interpersonal and communication skills, along with comfort working in a team environment. (More information about required skills in the Qualifications Section of this document.) The Instructional Designer I must be able to navigate the higher education academic environment successfully. The Instructional Designer I plays a key role in teaching and learning for the ERAU Worldwide Campus and the Academic Innovation team. The Academic Innovation team is made up of diverse skill sets and individuals, including a Software Developer, UX Research Analysts, eLearning Support Specialists, Instructional Technologists, Instructional Designers, Instructional Consultants, Media Producers, and Digital Media Specialists. Those positions work collaboratively to apply their expertise on the creation and implementation of innovative solutions and on the identification of tools and technologies that address big challenges in education. High level summary of job role The Digital Learning and Media Services Team performs a critical function within the University of the Built Environment, leading the design and development of high-quality digital teaching, learning and assessment resources for our students. You will be essential in the development of our online modules, working collaboratively with academics and subject experts to create interactive materials and co-designed activities to support our students via technology-enhanced learning.
