Role Overview We are seeking a FinOps / Expense Analyst to be the finance partner to Accounting and the business for end‑to‑end purchasing and operating expense processes. You will own day‑to‑day operations in expense management, support variance analysis and expense forecasting, and build crisp reporting packages for leadership. You will improve policy adherence, reduce “shadow spend,” and raise the signal‑to‑noise ratio in our opex so leaders can make faster, better decisions. Key Responsibilities - Serve as the Finance point of contact for Zip (intake/PO), Concur (T&E), and Ironclad (contracts); ensure requests flow efficiently with proper approvals and documentation. - Partner with Accounting on month‑end close for opex: accruals, reclasses, coding hygiene, and actuals vs. forecast reconciliations. - Build and maintain variance reporting (month‑over‑month, quarter‑to‑date, YoY) with clear drivers and recommended actions. - Support the FP&A Expense Lead on forecasting and budget refreshes; maintain driver‑based models at cost‑center and department levels. - Develop and deliver reporting packages and executive dashboards covering opex trends, run‑rate analyses, policy exceptions, and savings opportunities. - Stand up spend analytics and KPI frameworks (e.g., PO cycle time, policy compliance, non‑PO spend %, T&E per head, vendor concentration) and drive remediation. - Coordinate with Procurement/Legal on vendor diligence, contract terms, renewals, and consolidation opportunities. - Partner with Business Systems to enhance tooling, integrations, and AI‑assisted automation (document parsing, anomaly detection, policy checks). Qualifications - Experience: 3–6+ years in FP&A/FinOps/Accounting with hands‑on ownership of purchasing and expense workflows. - Tools: SQL and BI tooling experience required; strong Excel/Google Sheets; NetSuite (or similar ERP) and Salesforce exposure preferred. - Operating rigor: Detail‑oriented, organized, and deadline‑reliable; comfortable building processes that scale. - Business partnering: Effective at working across Accounting, Legal, RevOps, and budget owners; diplomatic but firm on policy. - Analytics: Strength in variance analysis, forecasting, and KPI design; able to translate data into action. - Mindset: Proactive problem‑solver who seeks automation and drives outcomes.
