FORTNA
• Responsible for commissioning of controls for conveyor and sortation systems • Implement site-based controls for new equipment within new or existing customer systems • Work with other members of the FORTNA Controls group to ensure drawings and software are completed, installed, commissioned, and documented as required • Write and implement machine code, integrate subsystems, and assist in all on-site commissioning efforts
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology
- 2-4 years of experience within an industrial controls environment
- PLC programming (Rockwell Software preferred, Siemens software a plus)
- HMI Programming (Factory Talk View preferred, Ignition a plus)
- Low voltage electrical design and drawing creation
- Experience with VFDs preferred, networked a plus
- Experience with Microsoft 365 - Office Apps

Position Summary: This position is responsible for developing the proposals for Benshaw custom solutions for key accounts and brand partners, initiating the kick-off meetings with engineering once the proposals become orders, and high-level project-management of the orders through front-end communications. This position also requires managing all technical communications to support the proposals and the sales team. The selected candidate shall be capable of rapidly reviewing multiple specifications, prioritize RFQ’s based on customer agreements and priorities, and manage all outside communications related to pre-sales and technical questions. The candidate may also need to travel to support the sales team by providing the technical background on Benshaw products. Location: Remote (within the United States) Primary Responsibilities: - Works closely with external sales teams and customers to provide application specific designs and solutions - Identifies and interprets technical requirements, deliverables, dates and other noteworthy programmatic details/constraints - Determines if the order should be led by a Program Manager and, if so, coordinates handoff and provides support. - Reviews contractual terms and conditions and attends bidder’s conferences where applicable - Prepares total quotation package and provides front end support - Maintains CRM and quote logs for all proposals and key accounts, and provides KPI information for regular business reviews. - Provides key insights and guidance to Program Management, commercial teams, and customers regarding product configuration, standardization, and front-end process optimization. Established Success Measures - Sales volume in accordance with annual operating plan targets - Order (booking) volume targets - Price quality targets in support of overall business profitability objectives - Project quotation completion KPIs and Accuracy Measures Position Skill and Education Requirements: - Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent educational experience - 7-10 years’ experience within application, design, or sustaining engineering or technical sales function - Ability to design and configure complex systems with limited guidance - Ability to travel 10% - 20%, depending on customer needs - Familiarity with power electronics equipment including switchgear, soft starters and VFDs. - Ability to work independently and consistently meet deadlines Additional Desired Skills: - Demonstrated applications and/or commercial experience with Medium and Low Voltage Starters and Drives - Strong technical skills related to electrical engineering and power electronics - Proficient with 2-D and 3-D AutoCAD software - SolidWorks experience a plus - Experience operating in an electronics manufacturing environment a plus - Excellent communication skills (oral, written, and listening) and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse groups of professionals - Ability to work independently to complete milestones - Good time-management skills and ability to set priorities - Strong commitment to customer service and teamwork Since our founding in 1983, Benshaw has grown to become a recognized leader in the design, development and manufacture of mission critical motor controls and drives.
