• Lead the mechanical engineering execution of medium to large material handling and conveyor projects • Serve as the primary mechanical engineering technical resource for customers, project teams, vendors, and field personnel • Review project scope, customer specifications, system designs, and contract requirements to ensure successful execution • Conduct system design, 3D model, and constructability reviews while resolving technical and installation issues • Develop and maintain engineering schedules that support project milestones and installation timelines • Manage mechanical engineering deliverables, change orders, material requests, and drawing releases • Coordinate engineering activities with Project Management, Electrical Engineering, Purchasing, Fabrication, and Field Installation • Mentor and support Project Engineers and designers by providing technical guidance and coaching • Review engineering drawings for quality, accuracy, and compliance with standards • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on engineering quality, customer satisfaction, and project execution
• Leading medium scope and less complex projects through the detail design and implementation phase • Development of RFP/Supplier Selection requirements, electrical control panel phasing plans, Electrical Engineering work plans, and design approval packages • Providing electrical system input to Project Engineer during design review meetings to ensure electrical requirements are understood • Supporting Project Engineer during transition from Detailed Design to Final Engineering • Reviewing and providing Electrical Engineering input to Description of Operation (DOO) & Functional Specification (FSD) documentation • Facilitating project meetings as required by project cadence • Producing meeting agendas • Providing meeting minutes to team members • Providing Electrical Engineering input to MHS implementation plan • Developing Electrical Engineering work plan to ensure successful project milestone achievements • Assisting Project Engineer during Speeds & Feeds review • Leading Controls Layout review meetings with internal teams and Client • Supporting Project Engineer to achieve design acceptance • Leading and directing support resources during development of project deliverables • Compiling project status reports • Attending project update meetings • Compiling and communicating electrical Assumptions/Decisions/Risk/Actions (ADRA) items
• Lead the development of capital budget and contract estimates for complex material handling and warehouse automation projects. • Analyze project scope, technical requirements, and commercial objectives to develop accurate cost models. • Collaborate with engineering, software, project management, procurement, sales, and other SMEs to develop comprehensive estimates. • Maintain and enhance estimating tools, cost libraries, and databases. • Analyze historical project data and develop metrics to improve estimating accuracy. • Recommend pricing strategies and participate in executive cost and price reviews. • Challenge project costs, schedules, and technical approaches to deliver competitive, standardized solutions. • Mentor junior estimators and support estimating best practices across the team. • Contribute to estimating process improvements, training initiatives, and tool development.

• The Sr. Controls Engineer will be responsible for driving design, functionality and testing of upper-level automated sortation systems. • Lead and assist in the design and programming of new projects. • Demonstrate skillsets for diagnosing and solving controls related issues involving I/O, hardware (Controller setup, VFDs, Comms devices) and software (PLC and HMI) feedback along with best practices electrical troubleshooting techniques. • Provide leadership, guidance and mentoring to junior level engineers and contractors. • Responsible for supporting other members of the FORTNA controls group to ensure accurate documentation, proper system functionality, adherence to approved design and customer specifications. • Write and implement modular and reusable PLC code and assist in all on-site controls engineering tasks. • Design and develop “Human Machine Interface” (HMI) using commercially available products such as Ignition. • Implement PLC and HMI programs to satisfy current design and customer specifications. • Work with FORTNA employees, customer representatives and third-party vendors to ensure all aspects of a project are considered during both the design and execution phases. • Review electrical designs and provide accurate as-built drawings for approval. • Individually or as a team, commission and troubleshoot complex automated systems, provide site engineering support, and complete system acceptance testing. • Provide support of system commissioning efforts as required.
