Job Description

Accountant II

Geisinger

• Responsible for learning accounting functions utilizing Workday grants module of the ERP system • Performs duties to support the goals and objectives of the Geisinger Health System in its efforts to provide quality patient care and satisfaction • Handles day-to-day accounting and reporting functions for grants and contracts using Workday • Performs monthly tasks related to the general ledger closing process for assigned areas • Works closely with the Office of Sponsored Projects, Controllership and various research project personnel • Provides communication (written and oral) to Geisinger personnel and sponsors regarding grant & contract specifics • Responsible for performing assigned system-wide accounting and financial analysis functions accurately and timely • Identifies and suggests automation and other improvements in department procedures to improve workflow efficiency

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor 's Degree Preferred: (Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration)
  • Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)- (Required)
  • Experience: Minimum of 4 years-Relevant experience* (Required)
  • Skills: Financial Analysis, Interpersonal Communication, Multitasking, Professional Presentation, Working Independently
