The Industry Solutions Engineering (ISE) team is a global engineering organization that works directly with customers looking to leverage the latest technologies to address their toughest challenges. This work involves the development of broadly applicable, high-impact solution patterns and open-source software assets that contribute to the Microsoft platform. We are hiring a Principal Technical Program Manager (TPM) to help drive high-impact engineering projects with our customers and their partners, transforming their missions using AI and other cloud-based solutions and services. TPMs identify and define the relevant customer scenarios, orchestrate the engineering approach to address these, and develop the end-to-end user stories with internal and external stakeholders, fulfilling the Product Owner role. You will be part of a cross-functional team of software engineers, data scientists, technical program managers, and designers who work side-by-side with high-impact and strategic customers and their engineers to build innovative solutions. Responsibilities - You will partner with Software Engineering, Data Scientists, Designers, and Subject Matter Experts to design complex technical solutions across feature areas. You’ll also give key stakeholders data-driven recommendations based on identified risks. - You’ll define success criteria and create relationships for implementing multiple feature areas for highly complex cross-functional projects. You’ll coordinate and ensure alignment across the business. - You will deliver on roadmap for multiple feature groups across divisions, track project schedules, drive development of staging and implementation plans, and lead governance programs. - You will drive continuous improvements by validating use cases and writing test cases from scratch. You’ll also provide expertise needed for departments to collect performance metrics, lead customer support, and define and lead direct customer engagements. - Embodies our culture and values. Qualifications Required/minimum qualifications - Bachelor's Degree AND 6+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience. - 3+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
