As a Senior Data Scientist, you will: - Analyze data to identify patterns and trends toward improving health and/or financial outcomes, e.g., disease prevalence, risk factors, treatment opportunities, and the effectiveness of health interventions - Develop a portfolio of reports and data insights that communicates the value and opportunity of Helix population health, diagnostic, and research data for life science companies - Develop reusable dashboards, analytical reports, datasets, and analytic integrations, by working with medical affairs, research, product, data science, and commercial teams where required - Evaluate market opportunities by creating and maintaining therapeutic area and service line-specific data models - Leverage real-world patient data spanning engagement, medical history, outcomes, social determinants, and genetics, partner with life sciences to provide focused and effective data-driven narratives - Collaborate across multiple teams including analytics, data engineering, medical affairs, clinical, research, business development, strategy, and product About you: - Master’s Degree or higher in Data Science, Biostatistics, Medical Informatics, Epidemiology, Public Health, or other related scientific discipline - At least 3 years of experience working with US healthcare data in health care plan/services, public health, RWE, research, or a related field - Direct experience using LLMs or agentic tools (Claude Code, Cline, Copilot, etc) in a research or clinical data workflow - Strong healthcare data experience with electronic health records and/or claims data - Experience with common clinical coding standards (ex: ICD, CPT, LOINC, SNOMED-CT) - Understanding of genetic data and knowledge of variant annotation tools and databases - Strong programming skills in Data Analysis and Visualization, SQL, Python, Databases - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills along with business acumen; desire to learn and grow in healthcare industry - Worked with real world data and have a strong understanding of analytics and how it is leveraged within the life sciences industry - Entrepreneurial spirit and willingness to jump into new areas - Knowledge of population health metrics - Excellent communication and storytelling skills with a variety of cross-functional stakeholders Pluses: - Experience working with the OMOP CDM - Experience working with large-scale genomic data - Experience using Airflow, Nextflow, or other workflow orchestration - Experience working in cloud environments - Experience analyzing RWE data at or with life sciences customers Expected Interview Process: 1) Recruiter Screen 2) Manager Screen/Tech Screen 3) Onsite 4) Offer Expected Pay For This Role: There are 3 distinct parts to your Helix offer: 1) Base Salary 2) Annual Bonus 3) Equity - Expected Helix Base: $139,000 - $186,250 - Expected Helix Discretionary Annual Bonus: 10% of your annual salary - Equity: We offer generous equity at Helix.
