Role overview As a Field Application Scientist (FAS), you will be the technical face of Countable Labs across the East Coast. You will drive customer success from onboarding through adoption, working closely with sales, product, and R&D teams to ensure our customers achieve meaningful results with Countable PCR. This role reports directly to the VP of Product. What you’ll do - Train new customers on Countable Labs instrumentation, workflows, and applications, ensuring successful onboarding and protocol adherence - Partner with account executives to support pre-sales technical presentations and customer evaluations - Drive customer success, adoption, and early project momentum in collaboration with the commercial team - Work closely with customers to enable early data generation and successful implementation of the Countable PCR platform - Serve as the Voice of the Customer, providing structured product feedback to inform product improvements and new feature development - Support external collaborators, early access users, and partners in evaluating and validating new products and applications - Develop, write, and maintain technical documentation, including SOPs, IFUs, and customer-facing training materials - Establish and improve best practices for customer support, including troubleshooting workflows and ticket tracking systems - Troubleshoot experimental challenges across a range of molecular biology applications and sample inputs - Travel up to 75%, primarily focused on the East Coast, with the opportunity to support expanding customer needs across additional regions - Lead and support first customer installations in new regions, including initial deployments in the EU as Countable Labs expands globally Qualifications: - BS or MS in Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, or related field (PhD preferred) - Strong foundation in molecular biology - Experience with digital PCR and/or modern genomics technologies - Familiarity with dPCR assay design, optimization, and experimental workflows - 3–5 years of relevant academic or industry experience in life sciences tools or technologies - Strong customer-facing skills with the ability to troubleshoot and communicate complex technical concepts clearly - Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, excellent time management juggling multiple requests at once, and organizational skills - Ability to work in high pressure environments in front of the customer - Located in the East Coast

Key Responsibilities - Manage a team of network and application delivery engineers, providing direction, mentorship, and performance guidance. - Oversee the design, implementation, and optimization of F5 application delivery services, including load balancing, traffic management, SSL offloading, and performance tuning. - Manage and administer Infoblox DNS, DHCP, and IPAM platforms, ensuring scalable, resilient, and secure DDI services. - Provide technical leadership during major incidents, directing troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and resolution activities. - Partner with security, cloud, and infrastructure teams to maintain compliant, secure, and high-performing network architectures. - Guide the development and maintenance of configuration standards, documentation, diagrams, runbooks, and operational processes. - Lead lifecycle management efforts including upgrades, patches, capacity planning, and platform modernization. - Drive initiatives related to modernization, cloud integrations, automation, and service improvements. - Participate in or lead an on-call rotation and support critical incident response. Essential Qualifications - 7 years or more of experience in network engineering or network application delivery roles, including team leadership responsibilities.
