Position Overview THIS POSITION REQUIRES FREQUENT TRAVEL IN THE DOMESTIC U.S. By Light is seeking an experienced HPE/ Aruba Network Engineer to perform Lan/WLAN network design, development, installation/configuration, packaging, testing, implementing, and Tier 3 level troubleshooting of multi-vendor network-related equipment in support of government solutions ranging from single stand-alone to large-scale enterprise environments. By Light is an IT products and services firm specializing in software development, satellite/terrestrial communications, cyber security, and network engineering/design. The primary responsibility for this position includes all efforts involved with all engineering (designing, developing, configuring, testing, and implementing) tasks associated with the a variety of WLAN/LAN task orders involving wireless network solutions in both classified and non-classified environments. Additionally, the candidate will participate in capturing and analyzing technical requirements; documenting detailed system designs, implementation plans, and operations guides of network systems; participate in both project and operational meetings; providing Tier 3 level support utilizing change control processes. The candidate will also serve as a reach-back to field engineering teams supporting a variety of infrastructure projects. Responsibilities - Responsible for the research and development of existing and new wireless technologies used to optimize and maintain DOD, commercial and corporate and networks. Which include the design, configuration, implementation, testing and troubleshooting of Wireless and LAN components and networks. - Working with 3rd party and internal departments in integrating wireless equipment with current WAN and security infrastructure. - Optimizing LAN/WLAN netwrok performance while fulfilling security requirements for user/device authentication, encryption and intrusion detection, i.e. 802.1x RADIUS Authentication using EAP-TLS. - Responsible for installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and modification of network hardware and software. Which include: - Provides tier 3 support with LAN/WLAN networks, client devices, including hand-held devices and associated LAN and WAN connectivity. - Responsible for documentation of installed networks, to include systems design, operations and implementations guides, Visio design drawings, etc. - Maintains the security and integrity of all wireless hardware and software. Required Experience/Qualifications - This position will require frequent travel). When not on site, Engineers will be assisting in the development of project plans, designs and documentation for future sites as well as providing technical reach back to deployed installation teams. - Education: Bachelor’s Degree, or a AS/AA or two-year Tech School with 2-5 years of experience; or HS/GED with 5+ years of targeted experience; or a BA in a relevant technical area with 5 years of targeted experience. - A minimum of 2-5 years of experience in wireless and network communications industry is required - Security + / DoD 8140 certification level IAT-I (must have within 3 months of hire) - Must have a current HPE/ Aruba Professional level certification in at least one of the following (or ability to obtain within 3 months): - HPE/ Aruba Professional Campus Access - HPE/ Aruba Professional Data Center - HPE/ Aruba Professional Switching - HPE/ Aruba Professional Network Security - HPE/ Aruba Advanced Product Certified - ClearPass - Aruba Certified Switch Professional (ACSP) - Familiarity with Survey analysis software and equi[ment - Proficiency with Aruba’s Airwave management platform - Knowledge of DNS & DHCP functions. - Performs other related duties as assigned. - Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and Visio. - Must be able to multi-task, required to provide daily status/updates to supervisors/ managers - Candidate must be a self-starter and possess the ability to identify all subtasks, prioritize work, and determine the tools / material required to accomplish their assigned task within the allotted time. - Candidate must have strong problem-solving, as well as the ability to interact well with both internal and external engineers, technicians, and customers.
