About the Role Turn/River is seeking a VP, GTM Effectiveness to work directly with our portfolio companies to design, build, and continuously improve their go‑to‑market (GTM) organizations. This role sits at the intersection of people, structure, and performance, with a primary focus on Sales, Sales Enablement, and broader Revenue teams. You will act as a trusted advisor to CEOs and GTM leaders, helping them translate growth goals into the right org design, talent strategy, leadership capabilities, and operating rigor. The mandate is simple but demanding: build GTM teams that scale faster and perform better. This is a hands‑on, high‑impact role for someone who loves rolling up their sleeves, thrives in ambiguity, and has deep empathy for the realities of high‑growth B2B SaaS GTM teams. Key Responsibilities - Partner with portfolio company CEOs and CROs to design and evolve GTM org structures aligned to stage, growth goals, and business model. - Assess Sales, Sales Enablement, and Revenue Operations teams for gaps in structure, capacity, roles, and leadership. - Define clear roles, responsibilities, career paths, and operating models across GTM functions. - Serve as an executive coach and thought partner to GTM leaders navigating scale, change, and performance pressure. - Advise on hiring profiles, interview processes, and onboarding approaches for critical GTM roles. - Partner with Sales Enablement leaders to improve onboarding, training, and ongoing productivity programs. - Help teams establish clear performance expectations, metrics, and feedback loops. - Drive adoption of data‑driven decision making across GTM teams, with a strong focus on leading indicators of growth. - Identify repeatable GTM people and org best practices that can be leveraged across the Turn/River portfolio. - Act as a visible, trusted representative of Turn/River with portfolio leadership teams. Qualifications - 10+ years of experience, with at least 5 years in B2B SaaS environments. - Demonstrated success supporting or leading GTM or People/Talent initiatives in high‑growth B2B SaaS companies. - Prior experience in People, Talent, GTM Operations, Sales Enablement, or a closely related function. - History of advising CEOs or senior leadership teams during periods of rapid growth and organizational change. - Experience working with PE‑backed or VC‑backed companies strongly preferred. - Proven track record of designing and evolving org structures that support GTM scale and efficiency. - Demonstrated capability in assessing leaders and teams and translating insight into practical improvement plans. - Clear, compelling written and verbal communication. Location - San Francisco, hybrid work model Compensation - The annual base salary range for this role is $330,000 - $340,000, taking into account numerous variable factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience, training, licensure, certifications, and organizational requirements. - This role is eligible to participate in the Turn/River carry program and a discretionary bonus program.
