• Collaborate with architects and clients to establish cloud economics tools and platforms based on Federal and Industry Cloud FinOps best practices • Develop agency and program-specific framework for FinOps principals, personas (roles), domains (areas of focus) and roadmap for Cloud FinOps to provide financial recommendations for cloud usage • Create and present financial models and reports • Continuously monitor cost of services and perform Total Cost of Ownership studies • Lead technical and financial analysis to help Business and Product Owners determine the impact of cloud hosting by identifying cost savings design options and usage trends that impact projected spending • Maintain current knowledge of relevant AWS optimization techniques, best practices, policies, and procedures to share in meetings with NIAID leadership, product teams, and infrastructure engineers • Help develop the billing and analytics engines of the centralized decision-making portal

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s and 5+ years of related experience
  • 5+ years of experience with Cloud Systems (AWS)
  • 3+ years of Cloud Financial/Economics experience
  • 5+ years of experience working with senior business and product owners to develop business cases, perform value and TCO analysis, and identify and implement cost optimization techniques for cloud infrastructure and applications
  • Experience in developing and presenting reports that quantify the cost benefits of different design options for running applications in cloud
  • Experience using AWS native optimization tools, such as AWS Cost Explorer, Cost and Usage Reports, and/or Amazon QuickSight
  • Must be able to obtain NIH Public Trust
