• Conceptualizes and designs creative campaigns and artwork that meet strategic business objectives and brand guidelines • Leads the team to develop creative that wows stakeholders and clients • Ideates and designs meaningful user experiences, ensuring that the visual design communicates the desired message and functions successfully for varying technical specifications. • As necessary, work beyond the creative brief to produce designs with greater functionality and improved user workflow • Develops effective ways of communicating a message across print, digital, video, and social media using a variety of methods such as color, type, illustration, photography, animation, and various print and layout techniques • Maintains proficient knowledge of our brands and products, as well as current trends in technologies and design practices across all media • Manages quality of work throughout all phases of a given project and ensures that the project team delivers based on expectations • Leads and directs multiple projects while effectively managing timelines and expectations • Understands project workflow, digital file management, and backup systems

We work with campaigns, nonprofits, advocacy organizations, and causes on the front lines of racial justice, climate action, privacy and tech policy, immigration rights, and economic justice.  We’re looking for a creative, driven design intern to join our creative team for SPRING 2026 (March 2026 - May 2026). What does the role involve? As a graphic design intern at Middle Seat, you’ll work closely with our design team to support real campaigns and causes with impactful visuals. You’ll create social media graphics, digital ads, print collateral, branding assets, and more. You’ll be encouraged to bring your own creative voice while learning how to collaborate in a fast-paced political design environment. This role is available either in person at our Washington, D.C office or remotely. This role is not part of the bargaining unit. You’ll get experience in: - Designing graphics for email, social media, and digital ads - Applying brand guidelines to new and existing creative - Building simple animations (GIFs, video loops) and editing video clips - Assisting with print materials like flyers, proposals, and direct mail - Supporting the creative team on larger design projects including identity design and web graphics - Receiving and implementing feedback from designers, strategists, and clients - Collaborating with strategists, developers, and other creatives to deliver cross-platform assets

• Support the design team through print and digital channels • Make editorial changes to marketing campaigns • Constant inter-departmental communication through the agency • Deliver an end of program presentation on project work and key take-aways

• Assist in the design and development of online training modules and multimedia learning experiences. • Support video production for eLearning courses, including scripting, recording, and editing. • Explore and apply AI-powered tools for content generation (e.g., text-to-video, voice synthesis, image generation, and animation). • Collaborate on the creation of storyboards, graphics, and interactive elements using tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Articulate 360, and Lectora. • Help manage and organize digital assets, video files, and project documentation. • Conduct quality assurance reviews of course content for accuracy, usability, and visual consistency.
