Senior Privacy and Product Legal Counsel
Veriff
• Serving as the legal point of contact for designated Product Areas, providing actionable advice on legal and privacy risks, compliance strategies, and supplier engagements. • Executing privacy-by-design initiatives, ensuring compliance throughout the product lifecycle, and drafting the necessary legal documentation. • Managing and owning data privacy compliance workflows, including the creation and review of DPAs, DPIAs, LIAs, privacy policies, and public-facing privacy notices. • Supporting privacy negotiations with customers and suppliers, ensuring Veriff’s interests and obligations are clearly represented. • Monitoring and analyzing emerging legislation, policies, and legal frameworks (e.g., AI laws) relevant to Veriff’s business. • Advising on global privacy developments and their impact on our product roadmap and international operations. • Creating and delivering training materials, guidelines, and internal policies to foster a culture of privacy and compliance. • Collaborating with outside counsel on specialized jurisdictional or technical legal matters.
Job Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in privacy and data protection (e.g., GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, LGPD), preferably within an international SaaS (B2B/B2C) environment as an in-house lawyer.
- A Master’s degree in Law (or equivalent).
- A proven track record of advising product and engineering teams from ideation to launch, including ongoing compliance monitoring and change management, balancing legal risk with business goals.
- Strong organizational and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a multi-jurisdictional, fast-paced environment.
- Clear communication and problem-solving skills, with a proactive and structured approach to complex legal challenges.
