Tech Lead Software Engineer

Visa

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of data platform engineers. • Define and execute the platform strategy and roadmap. • Ensure the design and operation of high-performance pipelines and data services (batch and streaming). • Implement and improve processes for data quality, lineage, access control, and governance. • Partner with Product, Engineering, Analytics, and Data teams to deliver end-to-end data products.

Job Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 8+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Proven experience leading engineering teams (hiring, coaching, performance management, and fostering healthy team dynamics).
  • Professional experience with Golang or Python.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, ability to translate business needs into technical priorities.
  • Strong software engineering background building distributed systems and data-intensive platforms at scale.
  • Solid experience with cloud infrastructure (preferably AWS) and modern platform/hybrid architectures.
  • Strong knowledge of streaming and/or event-driven architectures and production-grade data processing.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience enabling analytical and operational workloads.
  • English proficiency (professional working level - typically B2+ or equivalent).
