• Prepare accurate quarterly financial statements for 3 operating entities and over 40 real estate entities in accordance with GAAP • Coordinate and oversee year-end tax preparation with external accountants across all entities • Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end close processes for multiple entities simultaneously • Maintain separate books and records for each entity while ensuring consistency in accounting policies • Supervise and mentor bookkeeper, providing guidance and delegating tasks effectively • Review and approve work completed by accounting staff • Foster a collaborative and productive team environment • Post accounts payable transactions across all entities and ensure proper expense coding and classification for each • Post accounts receivable transactions and monitor customer accounts for operating entities • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and credit card reconciliations for all entities • Maintain accurate and organized general ledgers for 40+ entities • Track and properly allocate shared expenses across entities • Oversee the annual budgeting process across all entities and coordinate with department heads • Project and monitor cash flow across operating and real estate entities to ensure adequate liquidity • Provide consolidated and entity-level cash management recommendations to leadership • Manage complex intercompany transactions and notes between 40+ entities, ensuring proper documentation, reconciliation, and elimination entries • Monitor intercompany balances and ensure timely settlement of intercompany accounts • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes across multiple entities and improve efficiency • Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets across all entities • Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards for each entity • Develop systems and procedures to efficiently manage high-volume multi-entity accounting • Seamlessly navigate between 3 operating companies and 40+ real estate entities daily • Maintain organizational systems to track deadlines, requirements, and activities across all entities • Ensure proper segregation and accurate record-keeping for each individual entity • Coordinate entity-specific compliance requirements and reporting deadlines
Job Requirements
- Number of years of progressive accounting experience
- Proven experience managing accounting for multiple legal entities (10+ entities preferred)
- Experience with real estate accounting and property management financials strongly preferred
- 2+ years of supervisory or team leadership experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial statement preparation
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations
- Solid understanding of budgeting and cash flow management across multiple entities
- Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities across numerous entities
- Strong attention to detail with ability to maintain accuracy in high-volume, complex environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
