The Role SUBSCRIBE is a small but growing team – we are looking for a Staff Quality Engineer . You will work closely with Engineering and Product to define quality standards, expand reliable automated coverage across critical workflows, improve CI/CD integration, and establish clear release readiness criteria so we can ship with confidence. This is a hands-on leadership role: you will be expected to contribute directly to automation and tooling early on, while also building the team and operating model that scales. Your daily responsibilities may include: Requirements Qualifications 7+ years of experience in software quality assurance or test engineering with increasing responsibility. Proven experience leading QA initiatives, mentoring teammates, and influencing quality standards across engineering. Strong proficiency with Playwright (or equivalent modern automation frameworks) and deep understanding of test automation design patterns. Hands-on with test management solutions and issue tracking tools (Asana, Jira, Linear, etc.). Experience performing manual API testing using Postman, Swagger, or equivalent. Skilled in both automated and exploratory/manual testing, including web UI, API, and regression testing. Comfortable writing scalable, maintainable code for automated tests in languages such as JavaScript/TypeScript, Ruby, or similar. Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a focus on delivering quality in fast-paced environments.
