Tax Preparer
Global Finance Teams
• Prepare and file multiple-year amended individual (Form 1040) and business income tax returns (Form 1120 and 1065), including supporting schedules and disclosures • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with IRS rules and applicable state regulations • Review previously filed tax returns to identify errors, omissions, or compliance gaps • Investigate tax filing histories as part of tax resolution cases (e.g., missing returns, discrepancies, underreporting) • Assist in reconstructing financial information when records are incomplete or unavailable • Work closely with senior tax preparers, enrolled agents, CPAs, or attorneys on resolution strategies • Follow firm procedures, documentation standards, and data-security policies • Maintain organized workpapers and supporting documentation for audits, reviews, and resolution cases
Job Requirements
- At least 3 years of work experience preparing U.S. individual and/or business tax returns under a CPA firm or a tax resolution firm
- Strong understanding of federal income tax concepts and filing requirements
- High attention to detail and ability to investigate and reconcile discrepancies
- Ability to manage multiple returns and deadlines
- Hands-on experience using Drake Tax Software is a plus
- Exposure to tax resolution work (back taxes, amended returns, compliance cleanup)
- Experience reviewing or correcting prior-year tax filings
