Contractor Sales Manager
Marmon Group
• Develop and manage contractor relationships to drive sustained sales growth. • Own and drive contractor demand, working closely with directors on distribution strategy. • Identify and qualify construction projects early for pipeline development. • Pipeline activity and the business generated, both directly and through distribution. • Collaborate with sales directors and regional teams to generate pull-through demand from contractors. • Conduct jobsite visits and meetings with contractors, distributors, and key stakeholders. • Deliver impactful product training and demonstrations to influence contractor preferences. • Track and manage project milestones to ensure timely specification, quoting, and delivery. • Support pricing strategies, bid preparation, and competitive positioning with both contractors and channel partners. • Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to uncover new opportunities. • Coordinate with internal operations, engineering, and marketing teams to align on customer needs. • Report regularly on project pipeline health, wins and losses, and contractor engagement metrics—linking activity to distributor growth where applicable. • Promote branding loyalty, value-added products, and long-term partnerships in assigned territories.
Job Requirements
- Minimum 3+ years in Sales Account Management, preferably in the electrical, wire, or cable industry.
- Experience working directly with Contractors is preferred.
- Strong analytical skills and business acumen.
- Technical awareness with proven problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent people skills with strong written and verbal communication abilities; bilingual in Spanish preferred.
- Self-starter with high energy, drive for success, and ability to work independently.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively without supervision.
- Proven ability to develop and manage a sales project pipeline to deliver results to meet targets.
- Willingness to travel 50%+ of the time.
- Experience collaborating across sales, finance, and engineering teams.
- Proven ability to lead customer program activities and coordinate internal resources.
- Previous wire and cable industry experience strongly preferred; knowledge of wiring system design and processes a plus.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, evolving business environment.
