Junior Accountant

• As a key member of the Finance team, the Accountant will be responsible for managing and overseeing the Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions. • This role will also play a critical part in cash flow management, weekly forecasting activities, intercompany reconciliations, and supporting both internal and external audit and tax processes. • Ensure timely and accurate payment of vendor invoices • Manage vendor relationships and resolve invoice discrepancies • Maintain accurate AP records and files • Ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures • Monitor and follow up on outstanding receivables • Apply customer payments accurately • Maintain accurate AR records and files • Initiate collections activities • Ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures • Monitor weekly cash balances • Preparing cash flow forecasts • Identify and report on cash flow variances • Recommend strategies to improve cash flow • Participate in weekly forecasting activities • Analyze financial data to support forecasting accuracy • Assist in the preparation of forecast reports • Performing bank reconciliations • Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, i.e. prepare journal entries as needed • Assist in the preparation and analysis of management reports post month-end closing • Performing monthly intercompany account reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of intercompany transactions • Investigate and resolve intercompany discrepancies in a timely manner • Coordinate with other departments and regional entities to resolve reconciliation issues • Prepare and maintain intercompany reconciliation documentation • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual management reports, including variance analysis • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules • Provide insightful commentary and explanations for financial results • Assist in the development and improvement of management reporting processes • Assist with internal and external audit requests • Prepare schedules and documentation for auditors • Assist with statutory, tax and regulatory compliance matters, i.e. tax preparation and filing, e-invoice submission, etc. • Assist with ad-hoc financial analysis and projects as needed • Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures • Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail • Contribute to process improvements within the finance department.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field
- At least 1+ years of financial experience, preferably in multinational corporations
- Proficiency in accounting software, preferably NetSuite, and Microsoft excel
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Experience with cash flow management and forecasting is a plus
- Experience supporting audits and tax processes is a plus
- Passion for and inquisitive about AI and new technologies
- Understanding and knowledge of AI tools is beneficial, but ability to learn and digest benefits and features of AI tools is critical.
