Senior Site Reliability Engineer, SRE

• Focus on modernizing application deployments • Tackle technical debt and enhance legacy Linux-based systems • Create internal tools to improve system management and automate operational tasks • Build out observability stack • Establish meaningful SLIs and achieve reliability targets

Job Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in the field
  • Demonstrated experience managing Production Linux virtual machine deployments of 50+ virtual machines
  • Proficiency in at least two of Python, Shell, Java, NodeJS, or similar
  • Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure
  • Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration
  • Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, or similar tools
  • Proficiency with Ansible, Terraform, Helm, or similar
  • Expert-level Git usage and collaborative development practices
  • Hands-on experience with GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, or similar
  • Experience defining and maintaining SLOs and SLIs
  • Understanding and implementation of error budget policies
  • Proven track record in toil reduction and automation
  • Experience with capacity planning and performance testing

• Participate in the On-Call rotation, as a member of the Cloud Managed Services team, and respond to incidents that impact Neo4j cloud infrastructure availability to provide the necessary support for customer cases. • Work as a member of the Cloud Managed Services Team during business hours, with occasional off-hours scheduled work, to support and manage the Neo4j database infrastructure of the customers and handle and resolve escalations related to cloud hosted environments from customers and/or internal teams. • Improve, document, and automate operational processes (such as deployments and upgrades) to make them as efficient as possible. • Gather and analyze metrics from operating systems as well as Neo4j databases to assist in performance tuning and incident diagnostics. • Document the incidents, procedures, and outcomes of customer communications. Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Maintain and enhance CI/CD pipelines for microservices deployments. - Support cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code practices. - Assist in operating Kubernetes clusters and related platform services. - Monitor system health and assist with incident response and root cause analysis. - Implement automation to improve deployment reliability and operational efficiency. - Collaborate with engineers to troubleshoot build, deployment, and environment issues.
