• Plan, write, and optimize lifecycle email campaigns from acquisition and welcome through post-purchase, win-back, and promotional sends • Define and maintain brand voice guidelines while adapting tone by segment, lifecycle stage, and campaign objective • Create both plain-text and design-ready copy that blends storytelling, education, and conversion with clear CTAs • Build and refine subscription and retention flows using product education and behavioral triggers to reduce churn and grow LTV • Familiarize yourself with Klaviyo, Mailchimp, or similar ESPs to understand audience segmentation and campaign structure, so your copy is always written for the right context • Collaborate with design and marketing teams to develop integrated campaigns • Run A/B tests on subject lines, preview text, body copy, and CTAs, then iterate using open rate, CTR, and conversion data • Turn customer research from reviews, surveys, and support into messaging that addresses real objections • Contribute strategic ideas beyond the brief and communicate progress clearly in regular team meetings

Job Requirements

  • 2-3 years of professional email copywriting experience for DTC or e-commerce brands, with a track record of driving revenue through email
  • Portfolio required: 5-7 examples spanning plain-text, design-based, promotional, educational, and lifecycle sequences
  • Solid grasp of copywriting frameworks including PAS, storytelling sequences, and educational flows, applied naturally rather than formulaically
  • Familiarity with e-commerce ecosystems including Shopify and subscription platforms like Recharge, with working knowledge of Klaviyo or Mailchimp
  • Comfortable reading open rates, CTR, and conversion metrics to guide copy decisions
  • Writes copy that sounds human and original. AI can support the process but should never drive it
  • Self-directed and accountable, manages deadlines independently and stays open to feedback
  • Creative problem-solver who stays calm and detail-oriented under pressure
  • Background in direct response or long-form sales copy is a plus, as is experience translating complex product benefits into clear customer language
  • SMS copywriting experience is a bonus
