Role Description Connection is seeking an Associate Cloud Solution Architect (Assoc CSA) to support the continued growth of our AWS and Google Cloud (GCP) business. This role will play an important part in accelerating cloud engagements, strengthening partner relationships, and helping sales teams move cloud opportunities from early discussions to successful outcomes. Working under the supervision of the Director of Sales Engineering for Microsoft, the Associate Cloud Solution Architect follows a fast-track career development path within the Presales Cloud Solution Architect team. The role supports Sales teams and clients on both new and existing cloud opportunities, providing pre-sales technical consulting and solution design across major hyperscale platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. The Associate CSA participates in a structured 3–6 month certification and training track, with mentorship from senior Cloud Solution Architects during the first year. Upon completion of the initial certification track and based on performance, the Associate CSA progresses toward the Cloud Solution Architect role. Currently, AWS is the largest hyperscale cloud provider by revenue, yet Connection has minimal AWS business today. As engagement with AWS continues to increase across our customer base, we are seeking a dedicated resource who can help drive opportunity development, improve solution turnaround times, and support deeper collaboration with AWS programs and teams. Many Connection customers—particularly across manufacturing, healthcare, banking/financial services, and federal sectors—already have a strong AWS presence. This role will help Connection better align with those environments while supporting opportunities across both AWS and Google Cloud platforms. Qualifications - Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent combination of education and work experience - Cloud certifications are required in two or more of the following cloud technologies: Azure, AWS, Google. Certifications in VMWare or Converged and/or Hyper-Converged platforms are a plus. - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience. - Minimum 2 years of relevant experience, with approximately 4 years total experience expected for full proficiency. - Cloud certifications in two or more platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) required. - Certifications related to VMware or converged/hyper-converged platforms are considered a plus. Requirements - Understanding of cloud fundamentals, including identity, workloads, networking, and data services. - Experience using AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud portals and pricing calculators. - Familiarity with cloud best practices and frameworks. - Ability to analyze client environments and recommend appropriate technical solutions. - Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical solutions and value propositions to clients. - Ability to work collaboratively with sales teams and technical peers. - Strong organizational, analytical, and time management skills. - Self-motivated with a strong focus on learning and professional development. Role Description As a Senior MS Azure Technical Engineer, you will design and implement secure, scalable, and well-governed Azure environments. You will assess existing cloud infrastructure, identify gaps in governance, security, and cost management, and provide actionable recommendations for optimization and AI, application, and data workloads. You will work closely with stakeholders and internal teams to translate business requirements into robust Azure architecture, implement best-practice solutions, and deliver architecture designs, deployment frameworks, and executive-level guidance. Duties and Responsibilities - Azure Architecture - Solution Design & Deployment - Design and implement enterprise Azure architectures, including compute, networking, storage, security, and identity services. - Architect Azure Landing Zones aligned with the Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF) and Well-Architected Framework. - Design secure and scalable environments for AI, application, and data workloads. - Develop reference architectures, solution designs, and deployment frameworks. - Azure Environment Discovery & Assessment - Conduct targeted discovery and assessment across multiple Azure subscriptions to establish a comprehensive current-state baseline. - Key activities may include: - Reviewing identity and access management. - Performing Azure resource inventory. - Evaluating security posture and network exposure. - Assessing governance and landing zone readiness. - Analysing cost management and optimisation opportunities. - Conducting stakeholder workshops and technical interviews. - Deliverables include: - Discovery assessment report. - Prioritised remediation roadmap. - Executive briefing presentation. Qualifications - Minimum of 5 years of experience of Microsoft infrastructure and Azure cloud technologies (flexible for candidates with deep, recent hands-on Azure expertise). - Proven experience delivering enterprise or mid-market consulting engagements or equivalent internal architecture projects. - Hands-on expertise in Azure architecture, governance, and security. - Knowledge of Azure Landing Zones, Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF), and Well-Architected Framework. - Experience with IaC and automation tools, such as Terraform and Bicep. - Familiarity with networking and DevOps concepts, sufficient to collaborate effectively with internal teams. - Strong problem-solving skills, common sense, and a hunger to learn and grow. - Excellent English communication skills for technical and client-facing interactions, including documentation and presentations. - Ability to work independently, manage client engagements, and thrive in a collaborative team. Advantageous Skills / Technologies - Exposure to AI-related workloads and enterprise-scale application/data environments. - Previous experience producing reference architectures, solution designs, deployment frameworks, or executive-level deliverables. - Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, TOGAF, SNIA).

• Contribute to shaping a scalable and well-structured DevOps environment across our GCP projects • Enhance monitoring and observability practices, strengthen GitHub-based CI/CD workflows • Expand the adoption of infrastructure-as-code with Terraform • Develop self-service tooling (e.g., CLI utilities) that enables engineers and data specialists to experiment and deploy safely in staging environments • Work closely with software engineers and data specialists, promoting consistent standards and supporting them in leveraging cloud services effectively • Collaborate with the company’s core Cloud Engineering teams to ensure alignment with broader policies, security requirements, and governance standards

• Design, deploy, and manage AWS Landing Zone configurations for enterprise clients. • Implement and maintain IaC using CloudFormation templates. • Manage CI/CD pipelines with AWS CodePipeline, CodeBuild, and GitLab CI. • Configure and secure AWS services including S3, IAM, EC2, ECS, Lambda, KMS encryption, and AWS Service Catalog. • Set up logging, monitoring, and alarms for infrastructure reliability. • Optimize networking configurations to support hybrid connectivity to on-premises environments. • Manage storage solutions, including volumes, for performance and scalability.
