Senior Localization Lead

RWS Group

• Close cooperation with project managers, localization leads, other localization engineers and other internal supporting teams • Coordination of the localization projects such as distributing tasks to our external translators or colleagues, collecting final outputs, and solving issues • Analyzing the processes and finding opportunities for potential improvement • Communicating in English (especially via phone and email) • Getting to know the technologies used in localization (CAT tools, HTML/XML, etc.) • Keeping track of your work, including creating reports • Reporting to project manager and/or customers • Solving problems and troubleshooting • Creating instructions and documentation

Job Requirements

  • At least a high school education; university degree is an advantage
  • Knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office; advanced knowledge of Excel is a plus
  • Very good verbal and written English proficiency
  • Attention to detail, because just a single mistake can change the outcome of our work
  • Team spirit—you will be part of a team that helps each other
  • Previous relevant work experience and knowledge of localization are a big advantage.

Alongside hands-on project experience, you’ll build your professional network through virtual collaboration with other interns and learn best-in-class practices in a leading international business environment. Internship Job Duties: - Project Overview: Working alongside the Globalization team to expand terminology management for regulatory compliance. - Tasks: Mine and identify key terminology from assets provided by stakeholders and manage the translation and internal validation cycle. Leverage TMS functionality to manage terminology and activate automated QA within the tool, and prepare training material/demo for vendor/linguists as needed. - Final Deliverable: validated terms & metadata added in Terminology Management System - Coordinate with relevant stakeholders (product, marketing, regulatory, medical, etc) to manage terminology projects and ensure overall success. - If time allows, perform other duties as assigned (i.e. creation of localization style guides and linguist guidelines per content type, plug terminology into AI). Internship Qualifications: - Enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program; minimum GPA 3.0 is preferred. Translation, Localization, English, Communications, or Technical Writing majors encouraged to apply. - Experienced with Translation Management Systems (e.g., Phrase TMS, XTM, MemoQ) and highly organized with keen attention to detail. Experience with Terminology Management Systems (e.g., Quickterm, SDL MultiTerm) a huge plus. - High attention to detail with proven skills of being structure-driven. Knowledge of creating AI assistants and/or prompt engineering a plus. - Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; effectively collaborates and interacts at all organizational levels with a team-oriented mindset. - Permanent employment authorization/U.S. citizenship. For Interpretations, the meeting types range from: - General Meetings - Hearings - Panels - Digital Video Conferences (DVC) - Conference calls - Other mediums for discussions for both large and small settings. The timeframe ranges from: - Extremely short (1-5 hours) - Lengthy sessions (up to 12 hours per day) Occasional travel for on-site interpretation (CONUS) may be required.
