Job Description Summary The Scrum Master will apply agile scrum methodologies to drive product delight and delivery from initiation through implementation to ensure successful delivery of features. This position will work across the organization to engage appropriate internal and external partners to assure successful analysis, option determination and tactical execution. The Scrum Master will identify and remove roadblocks to the team’s daily progress. They also encourage and facilitate collaboration, which is a cornerstone of agile development. They will also look after the process-oriented aspects of scrum, such as task board administration, meetings, reviews, etc. They also try to reduce waste and optimize processes where possible. Location: Remote (United States) Key Responsibilities: - Serve as Scrum Master for multiple teams and ability to work with other Scrum Masters to coordinate Sprints and statuses - Lead backlog planning, daily scrums, stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and meetings to monitor project progress, velocity, delivery to commitment for the sprint and resolve any issues the team may be experiencing. - Follow the Agile methodologies and keep the team(s) on track. - Work with BA’s and the EPMO to develop project specs, manage the project plan, and work with teams to execute plans. - Communicate and document sprint status, burn-down and strategic recommendations to team members and senior management on a regular basis. - Create and maintain sprint dashboards and ensure required data is updated. - Proactively escalate issues and risks accordingly via the appropriate channels. - Supports and coaches the Product Owner, preserves collaborative relationships, and communicates extensively with the global community, identifies and removes impediments while maintaining a healthy and transparent relationship. - Facilitates and coach teams to progress toward goals and commitments through improvement in quality, predictability, flow and velocity. - Facilitates improvements in practices / processes within teams as it applies to the Agile Methodologies. - Facilitates and schedules Scrum ceremonies including daily standups, backlog refinement, sprint planning, team demos and retrospectives and ensure the ceremonies adhere to cadences and respective rules for each. - Facilitate Scrum of Scrums to coordinate between multiple scrum teams and organizations. - Facilitate release planning sessions and manage the release process. - Coordinate with other departments such as Change Management and Product Support to coordinate changes and releases in accordance with the SDLC and ESSA defined processes. - Focuses on improving team dynamics, performance, and management of conflicts all the while - exhibiting lean agile and scrum principles in all actions. - Participate with Enterprise Architecture and Senior Managers with defining SOPs. Be able to clearly understand organizational culture and mission to best deliver upon roles and responsibilities.
