WM CAF Developer

Atturra

• Participate in solution and technical design for webMethods-based integration and application solutions, including CAF/OpenCAF architecture and UI patterns. • Develop, enhance and support CAF and OpenCAF applications (pages, portlets, task views), integrating with webMethods services (IS), BPM processes and external systems. • Build reusable UI components and supporting services; contribute to standards for UI development, error handling, logging, configuration and environment management. • Conduct peer reviews of CAF/OpenCAF code and associated assets; ensure adherence to coding standards, security controls, accessibility (where applicable) and performance expectations. • Support build, test and release activities, including deployment packaging, environment promotion, and troubleshooting across DEV/UAT/PROD. • Work with business analysts and stakeholders to refine requirements, produce estimates, and manage changes through delivery. • Create and maintain technical documentation (designs, build notes, runbooks) and contribute to knowledge transfer within the team. • Provide production support as required, including incident/problem investigation and root-cause analysis for CAF/OpenCAF and related webMethods components.

Job Requirements

  • At least 10 years of experience in a similar role or capacity.
  • Significant experience developing CAF and/or OpenCAF solutions, including UI composition, portlets, task views, UI patterns and integration with backend services.
  • Strong experience across core webMethods components such as Integration Server (IS), Designer, and webMethods runtime administration.
  • Experience integrating CAF/OpenCAF applications with webMethods BPM/Process Engine and/or other workflow/task capabilities (as applicable to the client platform).
  • Solid understanding of web technologies used in CAF/OpenCAF solutions (Java, XML/XSLT, HTML/CSS, JavaScript) and common authentication/authorisation approaches (e.g., SSO, LDAP/AD).
  • Experience with API and integration patterns, including REST/SOAP services, error handling, logging, and non-functional requirements (performance, security, resilience).
  • Hands-on experience with source control and release practices (e.g., Git/SVN) and CI/CD concepts for webMethods assets (where implemented).
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including ability to gather requirements, produce estimates, and explain technical options to non-technical audiences.
  • Working knowledge of relational databases and SQL, including the ability to troubleshoot data issues across UI/integration layers.

The software engineer is expected to analyze source data, develop/enhance/customize conversion code, perform conversion operations, and research root causes of conversion defects.
