Fintech Systems Engineer

• Build Internal Fintech Systems • Design and implement the internal systems used to operate Nivoda’s fintech capabilities, working extensively with API-first external infrastructure to ensure reliable data flows across underwriting, payments, and financial reporting. • Build applications and decision workflows using platforms such as Taktile that support underwriting decisions, payment operations, and financial monitoring across credit, fraud and AML. • Your impact: fintech operations run through reliable, scalable internal systems that act as a cohesive platform. • Implement Decision Infrastructure • Work directly with internal data to strengthen financial decision making, developing the datasets and signals that power financial decisions. • Structure data and build labelled datasets that support predictive decision making making across underwriting, repayment behaviour, and risk monitoring. • Implement decision logic that leverages these signals across decision infrastructure and operational workflows. • Your impact: financial decisions become accurate, consistent, measurable, and scalable. • Automate Operational Workflows • Identify manual processes across fintech operations and convert them into automated systems that make accurate, impactful decisions. • Design workflows that streamline approvals, reduce manual review, and improve the efficiency of underwriting and payment operations. • Your impact: fintech operations scale without increasing operational complexity.

Job Requirements

  • 3–6+ years working with data systems, operational tooling, or analytics infrastructure.
  • Must be proficient in SQL and Python.
  • Comfortable building internal applications and operational tooling, including workflow or decision systems such as Retool, Taktile, or similar platforms.
  • Experience working with APIs and integrating external systems.
  • Strong ability to structure and work with complex datasets.
  • A structured thinker who enjoys turning complex operational processes into reliable systems.
  • Interested in fintech, payments infrastructure, credit, or financial operations.
  • Nice to have: Experience working with fintech, payments, credit, or underwriting systems.
  • Nice to have: Experience working with Machine Learning for high-cost decisions.
